What are people saying (AI review summary)? This pool receives highly mixed reviews, often described as an affordable, "resort-type" destination. Many praise its crystal clear, perfectly temperate water, extensive amenities like numerous lounge chairs, shaded areas, large changing rooms, concession stands, and picnic spots, all within a relaxing, tree-lined environment. It features a huge main pool (3-3.5 ft deep) and a separate 11-foot deep diving pool with boards, and staff are frequently noted as friendly and sweet. Some visitors hold a strong sentimental attachment to the place. However, significant criticisms include a strong complaint about extreme dirtiness, citing dirt, leaves, bugs, and even dead frogs in the water, alongside rude staff and operational issues such as limited lifeguards and only one pool being open at a time. Other concerns mentioned are the main pool's 'bathtub warm' water and early closing hours (4 PM weekdays, 5 PM weekends), with a desire for extended evening operation. The availability of the diving pool has also been inconsistent, being closed for an entire season at one point, though later reopening.

Go! It only cost $3 for the day. The water is crystal clear. Perfect temperature! There's a huge pool and I mean huge pool thats 3.5 feet deep. Pleanty of lounge chairs and shaded areas to lounge also. Large showers, changing and restroom area. A nice sized private court yard, where there are two conssession areas. When being used. A large outside picnic area, poolside. An 11 foot deep pool thats large and has two diving boards. The staff is super sweet and friendly. You can book parties there. There was a huge family reunion...maybe.. Having a barbeque that smelled amazing. Jammin and dancing. Looked like everyone was having a great time. The lifegaurds at the pool are super cool. Very relaxing enviroment. Pool is surrounded by huge beautiful trees. I love it there,. I"ve been back several times. The only thing I wish they would chage are the hours. They close ar 4:00 pm weekdays. And 5:00 pm on the weekend. They should stay open until 7:00pm at least. Its more luke a resort type pool. Enjoy
Learned to swim at the pool when I was 4 years old. Went to the pool twice a week while in summer camp. Taught swim lessons and was a lifeguard while in college and took my family there as an adult. Swope Park Pool will always be a special place for me.
Plenty of awnings for shade; a large pool for swimming and keeping cool, 3'5" all through. Diving boards and deep water in a separate pool to the side. Very safe for young kids not confident swimmers! Though it's a hot day, it's not very crowded. A $12 pass gives you 6 visits, that's two for free! That means if Mom doesn't swim, it doesn't cost us when we go to the pool.
If I could give zero stars I would. This pool is HORRIBLE!!!! The dirtiest pool I have ever been to and I’ve been to some cheap motels in my life and this one is by far the dirtiest. There were dirt, leaves, bugs and DEAD FROGS in the water. Staff is very rude. There were two female lifeguards that treated my kids and I very poorly. They also had only 2 lifeguards and would only open one pool at a time so the kids couldn’t use the diving board area when the wanted to. Don’t go even doe $3.
The main pool is only 36" with the water being bathtub warm. : ( . The diving pool has been closed the whole 2019 season. Adorable for the family. Went back a week later and they had the diving pool open with the small rock climbing.
