Neighborhood pool featuring clean water along with kiddie sections and lifeguards.
NYC Parks public pools, including Howard Pool, are generally unheated. As such, the water temperature naturally fluctuates with the ambient air conditions, providing a cool and refreshing experience rather than a maintained specific temperature.

my kids love it…if they are not out of swimmers they do provide which is awesome, and as well as lunches for the kiddos!… its hot people lets be kind to the staff we are cooling off they are in that heat all day please be human!
It's small not crowded but cozy. remember it's in the hood of Brownsville Brooklyn
1ST & LAST TIME AT THIS POOL..Security at the door was polite but staff was extremely rude & unprofessional at the pool..I wasn’t going into the pool, only wanted to sit out at the sidelines & watch my brother, boyfriend & his daughter..they only told me that I couldn’t wear sneakers..fine..no problem, no fuss was made, I understood. I went pitkin to buy slippers. Returned & they caught an attitude about my shirt, phone, & shorts which I was never told about beforehand but one of them claimed “OH, I TOLD HER THAT ALREADY!”..tried to deescalate the situation by saying ok I understand but that’s not how you talk to people..they still argued with me right in front of my boyfriend’s daughter who is 8 and who later explained to her father why I left because “they were being mean to me” if an 8 year old can say that the staff of an establishment was being rude then something is wrong..it’s how you speak to people. I was so disgusted at the level of ignorance & rudeness that they displayed & spewed..I would have had no problem putting my cell phone in the locker, taking off my shorts.. No doubt that rules are rules and they should be followed but if you are worried about being “written up to your supervisor” then maybe have manners, respect & behavior & stop taking out your frustrations towards the people in your community!
Friendly staff (most of the time).. pool is clean. The lifeguards could definitely do better with the children and the bullying and things like that. I've been going to this pool for 4 years and it has been a problem every single year and nothing has changed. It's a nice pool and it's clean and the free lunches cool for the kids. My son taught himself to swim there last year so I appreciate this pool very much I just wish the lifeguards would do better that's all.
I love this pool I've been coming here for years, its a family friendly pool. My kids love it as well. Nice size lockers, you must bring your own lock. I don't like the shower area the floors seem dirty but you can where flip flops for that.
