What are people saying (AI review summary)? SwimLabs receives mixed, though predominantly positive, feedback from parents. Many commend the program for their children's significant swimming progress, even from a young age or when starting with fear of water. Instructors like Marissa and Miguel are frequently praised for their patience, kindness, and effectiveness in teaching skills and building confidence. Managers, specifically Tawfiq and Michelle, are highlighted for their exceptional involvement, helpfulness, and dedication, often going above and beyond to support children, including those experiencing fear or meltdowns, and ensuring a positive experience. The facility is generally described as great, professional, and communicative, offering age-appropriate and fun lessons. Amenities such as towel service and rinse-off showers are also appreciated. However, one significant negative review details concerns about the facility's understanding of child development and its handling of a behavioral incident. This parent reported a lack of communication, empathy, and a perceived unchild-centered approach after their son hit another child. They felt unfairly pressured to move to private lessons or take an extended break without proper discussion or support, and faced difficulty reaching management. This review also suggested that group classes might offer limited one-on-one time for some children.

Our child has been swimming with SwimLabs since she was 18 months. She is now 4 and has progressed so much. Marissa, her regular teacher, is wonderful (and we appreciate that she has worked with our child over the long-term) and she has had a couple of make-up lessons with Miguel, who is also excellent. We supplement with swimming in our town pool during the summer. Highly recommend this swim program for your child! We also appreciate the towel service and rinse-off showers. Really great when you're not going home immediately after the lesson. Our family is grateful for the positive experience!
I'm very disappointed with the way this swimming facility handle situations involving young children. It's clear they do not have any solid understanding of child development or how to support kids as they learn and grow. My 3 year old son at that time was in the group class. He hit another child on the face during the class while they were waiting for the instructor to finish with another child. While I understand the importance of safety, no one reached out to me directly when it happened, and there was no effort to discuss the situation of work together on a solution. This was the first time he did it and he had been attending the classes for almost two months. After the day that this happened, my son didn't attend the classes for about a month for different reasons, we couldn't take him and he got sick. He came back and he did well, there wasn't any incidents or anything. Again, no one said anything to me or my husband when we were there. I then get a call in the afternoon from a lady telling me that they recommend that my son "takes a break" from the classes and/or if he can join private classes instead.(which we had already decided to sign him up for private classes on that day, because we feel that in group classes they don't get enough time of learning, each child gets about 10 minutes of one on one that's all. The children get impatient of waiting) I asked why, she said because of what had occurred with the other child. I couldn't believe what she was saying. I even told her that after that day he didn't even attend for about a month so what more break they wanted. I asked to speak to a manager and she put me on hold, I wasn't even able to speak with the manager. She said that they have been calling prior but that is absolutely not truth. My husband and I are very responsive to any calls or voice mails we get especially if it has to do with our son. I asked her so if we didn't have the means to pay for private classes that means that my son gets kicked out?. She didn't have an answer. We decided to remove him from there and even cancel the private classes we were intended to pay. This whole situation was handled with a lack of communication, empathy, and understanding of how children learn social boundaries. One mistake should not define a child, especially if he didn't do it again and it happened once. I also had few concerns before this happened but I kind of let it go. However, this was unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for patience, communication, or a child-centered approach.
My son is 3 years old and hasn’t had much experience in the water. He had been quite scared to get in the water without his parents or someone he knows and had a meltdown the first day. The manager Tawfiq (or “T”) was immensely helpful and considerate and helped us credit the class given the circumstances in the hope we had better luck the following week. Last week for round 2 our son came with his bathing suit on and ready to go but was still hesitant to join his class and leave my wife and I at poolside. Tawfiq came to the rescue yet again during his break and sat with our son to make him feel more at ease, play and have him interact with the teacher and the other children. Ultimately the teacher and Tawfiq were able to encourage our son to get in the water and join the lessons and we couldn’t be more appreciative of Tawfiq and the staff.
Great facility! The entire team is professional and communicative. Swim lessons are designed to be age appropriate and fun, while the student builds on their skills.
My experience with SwimLabs so far has been amazing. My instructor Marissa is so good with my son, she is patient and kind we went from not wanting water near his face to now splashing around and being submerged no problem within in lessons. I can’t wait to see what else he can learn at only 2! The Manager there is also very involved, Michelle. I was surprised at how she once covered a class for our original instructor, you don’t see that often in other schools where a manager would get in the water. WOW!! it was almost a seamless transition, she was so sweet. Whenever we have a problem or question I know she’s never too busy to help or step away from her desk to speak with me . Overall a very good school with dedicated people
