What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the swimming school are mixed. Positive feedback highlights effective private lessons, with one child learning backstroke from a beginner in just 8 lessons, and appreciation for instructors' efforts. Some parents found the program excellent, praising instructors and the initial focus on crucial water survival skills like jumping and floating for young children. Conversely, several significant criticisms were raised. These include frequent changes in instructors, frequent lesson cancellations with strict makeup policies, and a perceived lack of progression, particularly for young children, who are reportedly held back from learning basic swimming skills until many classes have been purchased. Other concerns include inconsistent training quality among instructors, some not being effective with younger kids, a 'one-size-fits-all' approach to progression, cold pool temperatures, wasted class time on 'free play' instead of instruction, and repetitive lesson plans. Some reviewers felt the focus on only survival skills without basic swimming instruction was a disservice to children, leading to regression for some.

Love this swimming school!!! My son took 8 private lessons this summer, he was a beginner and never really learnt swim before, 8 lessons later he learnt backstroke!!! I’m super proud of him, and really appreciate all the instructors’ effort. Highly recommended to any parents who are looking for a swimming school for kids!
I love British Swim School. They really work with my daughter with what she needs to learn to swim.
Our son has been enrolled for a couple months now. It's absolutely excellent. He has had two different instructors and they were both excellent. For young children, their initial focus is to keep them alive in the water. They're teaching things like how to jump into the pool, roll onto your back and float. They start with the Basics and it has been excellent.
I don't recommend this place. This company frequently changes instructors, cancels lessons frequently with strict makup policies, and in my personal opinion as an experienced lifeguard, does not teach young children the basics of swimming until many classes have been bought and paid for. The lack of progression is staggering and demonstrates a total failure of delivering the very product they are trying to sell. Notes for the swim school to improve: -have 1 or 2 designated instructors that are recurring for your classes so kids can build relationships with them. -stop holding kids back from progressing. Kids learn different things at different rates. You can't approach small kids, let alone toddlers, with a 1 size fits all approach. It's absurd to expect kids under 5 to perform perfectly for 30 minutes and hold that as the standard to progress. Having 1 or 2 instructors helps to remedy this because the instructor learns each kid and their strengths and where growth can be pursued. If you get a new instructor each class, the new instructor won't know your kid. -heat up the pool more, it's super cold. The kids seem uncomfortable to me. -stop wasting time with free play when the class is only 30 minutes and you have a lot of kids to teach. As it stands, there is little time dedicated to actual instructon. The instuctor at least should be doing 1v1s each free play with some station. -change it up! Don't do the same exact things each class. If nothing new is being taught by the 6th lesson, no growth will occur. Pick some advanced skill each class for kids to try.
This program offers inconsistent training depending on the instructor which caused my kid to regress and not all instructors are great with younger kids. They focus on survival skills without including basic swimming instruction to younger kids which is a disservice to the child. I do not recommend this company.
