Relaxing wave pool and beach spot with water rides housed under a giant volcano.
The water in all pools and rides at Universal's Volcano Bay, including Waturi Beach, is generally heated and temperature-controlled year-round for guest comfort. While specific exact temperatures are not always published, the water is maintained at a comfortable level, often around the low 80s Fahrenheit (approximately 27-28°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Volcano Bay highlight a largely positive experience, praising the excellent and huge wave pool located prominently under the volcano, featuring a powerful and frequent wave machine. Visitors enjoyed the fun water rides, especially the aqua coaster, and found the fine sand and overall ambiance very pleasant. Amenities like food options were well-received, and during quieter times, sunbed availability was good, with premium options offering convenience for an extra cost. Staff were generally cheerful and helpful. However, some common points included the need to arrive early to avoid long queues for rides and a significant negative experience reported where a guest with an artificial arm was denied access to tube rides due to a perceived risk of puncturing the tube, causing great disappointment.

Well, this is very nice indeed. A beach with extremely fine sand surrounds the excellent pool. A pool with great wave machine which goes off with a lot of noise & clapping from lifeguards. The water rides are fun too but I didn't do the big side from volcano's top for 125 meters. Had a great wee Burger & juice at lunch. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone with access to volcano bay to take time out & check it out.
It’s a beautiful wave pool that’s huge and sits right underneath the big volcano. It’s almost like it’s the center point of the whole park. Waves are big and fun to swim in. Overall a great addition to the center of Volcano Bay.
Located in Volcano Bay Water Park. This is the main swimming pool. It’s right under the impressive volcano. Wave machine is the best I’ve seen. Runs every 10 minutes. The waves are quite powerful as they break in the shallow end, keep an eye of the little ones. Plenty of life guards.
Great place at this time of year as there is plenty of sunbed availability. We upgraded to premium sunbeds, a little pricey but it was good to have a secure base to leave your stuff and handy to be able to order food and drink to be delivered to you. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. The rides are great, especially the aqua coaster but get there early as the queues build quickly.
My son and granddaughter went to this park. My son has an artificial arm and was not allowed to go on any of the tube rides because his arm might puncture the tube!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! There isn't any sharp parts on his arm. I could see if it was a danger but it's not!!!! Very disappointed.
