If I believed the prior reviews for the Family Ranch, I probably would’ve passed…. Glad I didn’t. The owner and his staff were MORE than accommodating and prompt when help was asked for. Here’s our experience: When we entered the property we were greeted by the properties’ animals (4 friendly cows). The “hotel” is actually an old bunkhouse and decorated accordingly. Our sleeping quarters were large and comfortable. 30 seconds on the bed we were unconscious. Whatever we needed was provided immediately. In conclusion: To the owners You have a wonderful idea and property at a very reasonable price. We are looking forward to our next stay

My honey and I had a very peaceful time. Room was clean and we had access to the kitchen which was nice. I even left my luggage at home and they accommodated giving me a toothbrush and toothpaste. Very sweet owner. Felt like I had known her for years. Kitchen smelled amazing would be a great idea to offer some of that Jamacian food for an upgrade. We ended up staying an extra night. We like to try different places in area so not sure if we would be back however was very memorable thank you for making up feel welcome and your hospitality.

When we arrived at the property there were notes on the door saying not to knock and to call a number. Then a guy with some elaborate story says that they cannot accommodate me (after a 4 minute story). He says they were not taking bookings since January (we booked in Feb). Then I received a call from their ‘management’ and they say that they have only Just learned 30 minutes ago that due to a health situation they could not accommodate us. So two completely different stories. The. I had to call the booking agency myself to rebook! All in all it reeks. And it costs us hours.

I had a reservation for over a week. I booked this stay because I am in town for business. The reservation clearly states that check in is open until 12am. I drove all the way out to the ranch and knocked on the door and waited four times. I called the number and no one would answer the phone. I tried to reach them for 35min. I could tell people were home and were just refusing to answer the door. If you aren't going to allow people to stay in your b&b because of covid-19, don't list yourself as open and allow people to pay you, then wind up 5 hours away from home in the middle of the night alone with no where to stay. Melbourne has a high crime rate and this puts people in potentially dangerous circumstances. I was honestly terrified being stuck alone in my car for 3 hours trying to find a safe place to stay last minute. How would you feel if someone had assaulted me in the middle of the night because you couldn't even pick up the phone and cancel my reservation in advance? You have a duty of care in regards to this. It's a shame, because I would have been your best repeat customer as I love to go riding and your horses were beautiful. They greeted me and stood by me for 20 mins, even though you wouldn't. They clearly more caring than you are.
