It was a warm summer day. We wanted to get some exercise but stay cool. So we hit up the Lake Johnson Pool. This was Saturday morning. You enter into a small tunnel and are greeted by a friendly front desk person. Entry for the day was $5 a person, unsure what they charge for kids. The pool is huge 2 big pools one for the kids. There is also a little splash zone with buckets for young kids. Plenty of seating throughout and lifeguards. Good pool.
Clean, small and cozy. Ample parking. It also includes 2 separate pools for small children. Picnic tables and you are able to bring your own food.
The City of Raleigh has done a great job equipping everyone for a safe time at the pool during phase II of the state's reopening. They have established all the signage and protocol necessary to keep people at a distance and at a very low capacity. The number of chairs that would normally be present has has been limited drastically; so be prepared to bring your own if needed, plus snacks, as machines are empty, and the drink machine will soon be, too, per staff. (This is completely understandable given that pools have had to remain closed for so long so food would have expired by now.) If/when you get a reservation, it is well worth the 2-hour time slot to have a socially distant yet acceptable experience in this hot weather. Children under 12 are free and adults are only $3 each. Can't beat it in this heat!
Very nice outdoor pool. Separate pool for little ones and the splash pad also! How awesome is everything together? Plenty of benches for sun bathing also!
Been coming to this pool for years and have always enjoyed it, today included. Cant beat the splash pad
