Small water park offering a splash pad and carousel, plus restrooms.
As a splash pad, the water is typically unheated and consists of ambient temperature tap water. There are no traditional pools with regulated temperatures; the water is cool and refreshing, suitable for warm weather play.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Riverfront Park and its Splash Pad are highly regarded, especially as a free and fun family activity, attracting visitors from both Salem and surrounding areas. Key positive features include the splash pad itself, ample free parking, restrooms, picnic tables, green spaces, and nearby attractions like the carousel. While it's noted for being generally busy and a good spot for people-watching, some reviewers pointed out issues such as off-leash dogs, the presence of homeless individuals, and the splash pad becoming shaded and cold later in the day due to trees. Despite these minor drawbacks, it's widely recommended as a great place for children to enjoy hours of joy and for families to spend time outdoors, though some feel there's room for improvement.

People who live in Salem will have AMAZING places like this for use for FREE and still complain that there aren’t enough fun activities for families with children. We drive an hour each direction just for this.
Riverfront Waterpark Splash Pad is a great place to bring the kids to splash around and play in the water on warm summer days. There is ample free parking, concrete sidewalks, a nearby carousel, restrooms, picnic tables, and lots of beautiful green grass to enjoy. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you will not be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please click the thumbs-up👍icon! Thank you 👍
We all appreciate beautiful trees in the park, but when planted around a splash pad you know that after a certain hour you will end up with cold kids running around with little blue lips. This can be used to your advantage as a sign of when it's time to pack up and head home though! This park is Generally always busy, a great place for people watching but not so great if you Want to avoid crowds. This park does have a little something for everyone however, including Salem's beautiful carousel. I highly recommend a visit.
The kids loved this small aquatic place, even if it was small it brought the kids many hours of joy. This place is located right next to a park and many multiple attractions.
Riverfront park is great. Its really nice and open. But there were homeless people everywhere and sleeping in the grass. Dogs were also running around off leash. In and out of the splash pad. My kid has a huge fear of dogs. I understand its a public place but it was just a bit rude. It not the worst park in salem but it could be improved.
