What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews indicate a significant decline in the facility's quality and service after an initial positive impression. While some users praise the pool's size, affordability, and the quality of instructors and classes, and some still find it suitable for lap swimming, numerous issues are highlighted. Key problems include frequent breakdowns of the warmer pool heater, poor locker room conditions, a permanently broken swimsuit spinner with no replacement plan, and concerns about general cleanliness. Operationally, there are complaints about financial battles leading to reduced community swim hours, planned mid-day closures, and fewer lap swimming opportunities, especially in the warmer pool. The scheduling is described as complicated and frequently changing, with difficult booking processes for short seasons, no make-up lessons, and shortened class durations. Furthermore, some staff are reported as unfriendly or confrontational, and there are serious security concerns regarding theft from locked lockers. Many users express disappointment and plan to switch to other facilities.

When I started using this facility a couple of years ago, I gave the 5 stars. it was really great. Friendly staff, clean conditions, many swim hours for laps in the warmer pool. A few months ago the heater broke for weeks at a time and the warmer pool was unusable for many of us. Apparently the management has been in a financial battle with the City of Menlo park in providing community swim hours. Recently they planned to close during mid day hours and practically no laps in the warmer pool in the afternoon. Many seniors prefer warmer water for therapy swimming. The locker rooms are in poor condition and the swim suit spinner finally broke permanently and there seems to be no plan to replace it. Finally, some staff and attendants are unfriendly and respond confrontationally when asked about closing laps early or do not place lifeguard training in the schedule which results in fewer laps unannounced. Furthermore, they have a very complicated and changing timetable Maybe the city can improve the condition by more funding but also holding them up for better conditions. Raising fees by a couple of $ for community swimming should be allowed if they keep the pool open mid day. As is it is not providing adequate laps in the warm pool given the number of swimmers . .
The swimming pool was nice and we used to like the school here a lot. However, starting from summer this year, they don’t allow for make up lessons even they have vacancies. Also, for a 30 min class, they started teaching 7 min after the designated time and asked kids to get out of the pool at 28 min. Really disappointed! After finishing the summer, we will switch to other places.
Their classes booking is a pain. They have very short seasons of 6 classes and 2 independent classes in-between seasons. We need to book these atleast 1 month ahead. Though that's the least of the problem, parents like me are spending an hour to figure out schedules and classes that have openings. All this effort is for 6 classes at a time. Is this worth the effort for 6 classes at a time, which they call a season? The instructors are good and the quality of classes are good. My kids enjoy the classes. They need to tighten up the system/process.
Be aware! Someone took everything from my husband's wallet from a locked locker. Do not leave your valuables into lockers even with locks. They break the locks or have a way to reset codes. Not a clean place. I don't think the surface of the pool or lockers are cleaned frequently. I have been swimming there for the last month, 3 days a week. Good size pool and affordable.
Great place for lap swimming. Clean, well organized. Staff are great. The only thing they need is a phone app for easy check in via their scanner. The key fob is good but a bit outdated tech. Other than that I highly recommend this pool
