Public swimming pool with lessons and diving, suitable for children.
Specific information regarding the exact temperature of the Westmoor High School Swimming Pool (Giammona Pool) is not readily available through public sources. Pools used for high school athletics and community programs are generally maintained within a range suitable for various activities, commonly between 78-82°F, but this is a general estimation and not a confirmed temperature for this specific pool.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this pool facility are generally positive, highlighting its cleanliness, comfortable atmosphere, and friendly, wonderful staff. Many appreciate the various swimming classes for all ages, open swim hours, and its suitability for family fun. COVID-19 precautions like chair sanitization, social distancing, mask requirements, and temperature checks are noted and appreciated by some, despite the continued closure of locker rooms. The newer facility is seen as an improvement over the older one, though some patrons miss previous features like a rope swing, water slide, or diving board. However, there are some negative points raised: one significant complaint involved an inconsistently administered deep-end test by a 'kid on deck,' leading to experienced swimmers being restricted to the shallow end. Additionally, the party room can be uncomfortably hot due to its proximity to the hot tub, and the allotted 15 minutes between parties is often insufficient for cleanup.

I love this pool. It's clean, the staff has always been wonderful. The atmosphere is comfortable. Locker rooms are still closed due to Covid, but it's all good. I prefer showering at home anyway. They sanitize the chairs after each person leaves. Social distancing, masks and temp checks upon entry are in play. I love it!
This place has got swimming classes for all ages, from beginners to professionals. If you just want to relax and have fun, they've got open swim hours too. It's a great way to spend time with your family. I've been coming here for years and I can say that the staff is super friendly and the facilities are good.
My sons came for the summer open rec swim. They were administered the deep end test by one of the kids on deck. The kid told them they weren't strong enough swimmers. Based on what I do not know. My children have been swimming since the age of 3. We paid a fortune for them to graduate from a very good swim school. They swim all the time and never in the shallow end. But because one kid decided they weren't strong enough they were stuck in the shallow end with a hundred other kids. We will go back to orange park next time. They pass the deep end test everytime we go there and they have a blast. Plus Orange has a diving board.
This is one of Westmoor's newest additions. The old pool was certainly old. Open bay showers, leaks whenever it rained, and a hot tub that never worked. HOWEVER, the old pool did have a rope swing, a small water slide, and a diving board. The staff are friendly, the pool feels great, and the hot tub usually open! Plus, they do parties if you reserve them.
Lifeguards are awesome, kids had tons of fun. Party room is very hot because of the hot tub next to it, only 15 minutes between parties was not enough time to wrap up and clean up.
