We regularly stay here when visiting family. What I like best is the amenities. There are restaurants, theatre, and a spectacular pool. Rooms are so quiet, bed is comfy and bathroom is huge! I love the bios of influential Bothell residents and school staff on the hotel as well ambiance throughout campus. Just so cool! Can’t recall ever having a hassle with anything as there’s outstanding customer service. Only one point to note—I wish it was a little more reasonably priced…just went for a weekend stay and it was $700 (it’s normally not that bad but it’s a summer weekend). Still I’d wholeheartedly recommend staying here and taking advantage of all they have to offer. It’s a PNW gem!

Staying at The Anderson School Hotel was a bucket list experience—charming, slightly eerie in the best way, and full of character. Located in a beautiful and safe area of Bothell, this historic property is a former elementary school turned into a boutique hotel, and it delivers a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful, and the lobby had a cozy Pacific Northwest feel. The scent of the nearby Fleetwood fireplace added a warm woodsy aroma that made a great first impression. Our room was in a separate building that still retains the essence of an old school with long hallways, classroom-style doors, vintage lighting, and photos of former students and staff lining the walls. The rooms themselves feel like a step back into the 1920s, complete with chandeliers, antique-style decor, and unique touches. Ours was likely a converted office and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious with a walk-in shower and ample counter space. While there isn’t a free continental breakfast, there are great on-site amenities, and breakfast is available for purchase. It's also worth noting that the room rates are higher than a standard chain hotel (ours was about $240+ per night), but it’s well worth it for the experience. Think of it as part historic tour, part hotel stay with just a hint of “The Shining” vibe that adds to the fun, not fear. Highly recommend if you’re looking to stay somewhere north of Seattle that’s anything but ordinary!

I’ve stayed at several McMenamins properties over the years, so I know what to expect - but this location still manages to stand out. I grew up in Woodinville but now live out of state, and this is always my go-to spot when I’m back visiting family. It’s consistently clean, well-managed, and ideally located. A special thanks to Connor at the front desk for quickly and kindly helping resolve a reservation mix-up. This place continues to impress.

This hotel's staff can't be bothered to answer their front desk phones or perform basic hotel guest services such as routine housekeeping. The guy at the front desk with the white mustache even wrote down that I requested such service. Sadly, after it didn't get done, he only offered flimsy excuses such as "we have a new room cleaning staff" and "the hotel wants to conserve water." I suggest training your housekeeping team to perform ACTUAL housekeeping duties. Also, making beds, emptying trash, and tidying up my room won't jeopardize the hotel water supply. I promise. Other hotel guests roamed the halls all night boozing away and making lots of noise at 3AM. I guess the staff also can't be bothered to enforce their own quiet hour rules either. On the bright side, I guess at least the coffee tasted good... Even the most basic chain motels will clean your room and try to make your stay comfortable. But not the Anderson School; It's such a shame because with a staff properly trained in basic hospitality this well-themed property could've been a memorable and special stay.

Pretty disappointed about the room! We were located in the basement with almost no light and a bad smell. The rooms do not have a fridge and no coffee machine. Hard to find yourself some coffee and for ice you have to go to the restaurant. Overall it’s way too pricey for what you get!
