Got a Bow Creek Rec Center Yearly Pass for my 14 year old Grandson last year. He loves going to the Rec Center and usually tries to go every day! There is so much for him to do there! It's also great that he can go to any Virginia Beach Rec Center! He has a safe place to go so I don't have to worry about him! His pass just expired so I am taking him today to get another one! The Staff at Bow Creek Rec are phenomenal! My Grandson also tells me that the Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful to him! I want to thank the Staff for all they do especially for being so involved with the youth! You are all doing a terrific job! Keep up the good work! !

Staff was EXTREMELY unfriendly. This one woman scoffed when we came in and was very unprofessional. She was shaking her head the entire time we were there and essentially speaking to us very rudely. We also overheard her complaining about us to another guest which is very unprofessional. Me and my friends were just trying to get day passes to swim for a few hours and this lady acted like we were a burden. She has zero customer service skills. The pool also has zero chairs for parents to sit at

So I've been coming to the rec center all summer long. Its the beginning of August. I'm trying to come to the rec enter with my granddaughter and they are denying us entry. When I came here earlier in the summer, they told me not to renew her membership because she had a after school membership. We came into the rec center today and the manager Chris is now all of a sudden acting like we can't come in the pool because her membership isnt valid until the 25th. She advised I need to get her a day pass. I think Virginia Beach Parks &rec need to get their information straight. We have been tonthis very pool at least 3 time since i was to this when I renewed my membership. They held us at the front for 30 minutes then said they would let us in this time, but i would beed to pay for her entry until the 25th.I asked why? I attempted to pay for her to get a membership earlier in June and they told me not to pay for one because I could use the after school membership they were now denying me usage of. Then another manager John interrupted our pool time to reiterate this to me. I told him to leave us alone they had taken up enough of our time at the front desk.

While the staff was kind and courteous, there appeared to be a lack of clarity regarding the rules about where children are permitted with a life vest. It also seemed that the lifeguards, though present, were not fully informed of their responsibilities. On multiple occasions, I received conflicting or incorrect information, which led to concerns about safety and confidence in the staff’s preparedness.

This facility very rarely offers lap lanes. If you are joining to actually swim, and not splash around in a very crowded pool you might be best served to look elsewhere.
