Community center with a pool and gym featuring fitness classes for all ages.
The Princess Anne Family YMCA typically maintains two indoor pools: a lap pool and a warm water/instructional pool. Lap pools at YMCAs are generally kept at temperatures ranging from 78-82°F (25.5-27.7°C), while the warmer instructional or therapy pools are usually maintained at a more comfortable 86-88°F (30-31.1°C) to accommodate swim lessons, water therapy, and other activities. Specific daily temperatures may vary.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews reveal widespread dissatisfaction with a YMCA facility, citing frequent and often last-minute cancellations of programs (swim lessons, flag football) and facility access (indoor pool due to no lifeguards or unexplained closures). A recurring theme is the severe lack of communication, with customers often receiving no notice or discovering cancellations only upon arrival, exacerbated by unupdated websites and unfulfilled promises for callbacks. Customer service is consistently criticized, with reports of rude, unhelpful, and unsympathetic staff, negatively impacting families. Users express frustration over not receiving value for their paid memberships or program fees due to these access issues and difficulties in obtaining timely refunds. Concerns also extend to facility management, including poor planning and perceived discrimination in facility access, indicating systemic and recurring problems, particularly during summer.

I booked swim lessons for my child at this YMCA for a program containing four sessions. The first week was cancelled due to pool maintenance, which is entirely avoidable as they should be planning their programming around this. The third week was cancelled via email at 9 PM the evening prior and calls were made less than 30 minutes before the program start time the morning of. At this point, I have been informed by other parents that they received an email explaining that a full refund would be processed due to the program not meeting YMCA standards. I did not receive said email. The fourth week was not cancelled at that time. The fourth week was cancelled day of with notice made only to members. When asking for more information the receptionist was quite rude. I went out on a limb booking programming through the YMCA since I am not a member and I will never again. Avoid this YMCA if you want to get value out of the programs you are paying for.
I would not suggest to sign your child up for any sports! I signed my daughter up for flag football 4/26, the class was to start 6/3, drove 30 mins just to find out when I got there no one was there for flag football! The lady asked did I get any information or an email I told her the Y NEVER sent any additional information after I paid for the class on 4/26 she apologized for that and I was told I would receive a call from Caesar the manager explaining what’s going on that day, never got a call I had to call him myself on 6/9. When he called me back I was told there weren’t enough kids who signed up so that’s why flag football wasn’t going on NO APOLOGY or anything how would I as a parent know that information??!! He asked if I wanted a credit on the account and to call back for July to see if enough kids sign up, I told him I didn’t want to do that and be in the same situation so I would like a refund, here it is 6/24 I still haven’t received a refund yet! My money shouldn’t have been held this long regardless when the Y noticed there weren’t enough kids signed up for the class to begin with!!
Never any lifeguards for indoor pool, and terrible customer service at the front desk. Really had higher expectations, why are we paying so much for membership if we can’t have accessibility to what we got the membership for? They don’t update their website and we waste a whole trip to find out they are closed for no life guards.
Megan from egym was rude and cold to my family today. She made my daughter cry and didn't show any compassion. How is this a family environment with employees talking to people, especially kids, that way. Now my daughter doesn't want to go back 😒
