What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are quite mixed. Positively, many praise the strong sense of community, the positive and encouraging coaches, and the excellent 'Stay and Play' childcare staff, who are described as personable, kind, and meticulous about cleanliness and safety. Programs like basketball, swimming, and family events are highlighted as beneficial for children. However, there are significant negative points, particularly concerning communication regarding program changes and cancellations, which has led to frustration and disappointment, along with issues around receiving refunds. Some members also express dissatisfaction with discriminatory access to amenities, such as a sauna being available only in the women's changing room despite equal membership fees. Concerns about facility utilization (rooms not open for daycare), the condition of some areas (bleach smell, older equipment), and limited seating for spectators are also mentioned.

Nice basketball court! I'm sorry there's not enough space for bleachers. It's best to bring a camp chair if you're there to cheer on the kids! The children's coaches are great; they're very positive and readily encourage the players! Family members and friends are very enthusiastic, and I got the impression that people there are part of a very close-knit community!
We signed our child up for basketball lessons to begin on a Monday in August. The day of the first lesson we received a notice 6 hours prior that both the day, time and location of the lesson was changing. Things happen, no big deal but more notice would have been appreciated. We show up to the different location 5 days later for the first lesson there and are told the lesson for that day was cancelled as there was painting in the gym the previous day and that the painting continued into the day of the lesson. Zero notice was given to us, we had to show up to find out. I requested to cancel the lessons altogether and to have the payment refunded. 3 weeks later, no refund and horrible communication from the "director". Completely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating to have to keep disappointing a child because of horrible management.
i bought this membership because i use to love going to the sauna. the website states they have a sauna but, only in the women’s changing room???? why am i paying so much for a membership that isn’t what was advertised, and on top of that i have to pay the same rate as women without receiving the same services. If you advertise a sauna as a selling point maybe make it accessible to everyone who pays your fees. seems a little discriminatory …
When i first moved here YMCA was my go to. Daycare, after school programs, summer program and other programs. Art was the first for my 5 yo. Then swimming for both. I visited this location to get in out of the weather. I walk Mt Trashmore. There are too many rooms that could be opened for Daycare. One room off pool area for children smelled of bleach. The new workout area reserved for government workers as a membership. I would have to pay extra or use the old ones where I saw the older members. Some struggling to use. There are mega fitness centers opening with or without training. Medicare has a program for blue shoes. YMCA should go back to children programs to stimulate exercise and dance.
We are new to town and have toured several gyms and attached kids clubs before joining the Y. We are so happy to have found both a wonderful gym, and community. We never left our kids in a gym childcare until here. Others were not clean, didn’t change diapers, or were irresponsible and rude. The stay and play staff goes above and beyond in making it clean and safe. I never have to worry about our children while we exercise or do “parents time out.” It’s such a game changer having young children! Everyone is so personable and kind to us and our children. We do swim, weekend family events, and plan to begin soccer in the Fall. If you are looking for a trusted family gym and community, it’s the Y!
