What are people saying (AI review summary)? The provided reviews highlight a significant and worsening decline in the facility's overall quality and member experience. Recurring issues include pervasive cleanliness and maintenance problems, such as dirty locker rooms, broken and filthy steam rooms, dusty equipment areas, frequent equipment malfunctions with slow repairs, and a noticeable sewage smell at the entrance. Customer service and staffing are consistently criticized, with reports of rude and unhelpful front desk personnel, inadequately trained summer camp staff leading to unchecked bullying and child endangerment, and understaffed childcare. Additionally, members note a lack of essential amenities, including a comfortable lounge or nursing area (despite website claims), insufficient equipment, and restrictive policies without clear justification. These widespread concerns suggest poor management and raise questions about the facility's operational standards and member care.

I’ve been going to this gym with my husband for almost a decade. I’ve noticed something different lately, a major decline in the facility as a whole, that is just getting worse. The ladies locker on is absolutely disgusting. The lockers are always dirty, the steam room is always broken or half functional/not to mention, filthy with dirt and mildew; the same with the showers. Equipment is always out of order and it takes forever to get a repair done. There is not even two of every machine in this facility, like other gyms. It seems like there are new members but not enough equipment/functioning equipment to sustain the facility. Lately when I arrive, walking into the front of the building is a terrible sewage smell. It has me questioning if there has been a change in management or are they going bankrupt…
There is no nursing room or lounge area at this location despite what their website says. There's not even a comfortable area to sit with my infant while my husband works out and older kids play in the IZone. I couldn't even sit with her upstairs in their lobby as a staff member said nobody under 13 could be up there. Seemed really odd to me and she couldn't tell me why and we couldn't find any signage that indicated that as a rule. They really should have some kind of lounge area to sit comfortably at the very least. I wouldn't be so annoyed if their website wasn't inaccurate.
Summer Camp- Camp consisting of various ages. The staff is not well trained enough to handle these kids, especially those who have challenges. There are bullies at camp who are intimidating the young kids, ages 5. Kids who report being bullied to the staff leaders are not disciplining the problem kid. Too much harm to our child is happening here at this camp where she's reluctant to attend everyday. The Executive Director & leader of the camp has failed to address my concern fully so this problem can be fixed. Camp is supposed to be fun, not painful, harmful or bullied. I watched kids wondered off where the staff didn't even know the kids had wondered that far off. This camp and YMCA possibly could be sued for child endangerment & negligence. I strongly suggest the owner respond to my post. The bigger kids hit the little kids with noodles and say threatening comments as well. High schoolers are not mature, trained enough or capable of handling these types of kids, especially specially need challenging ones. And yes I do know some there. These parents & authorized caretakers know their kids have major issues. Enrolled them in camp anyway so the YMCA can deal with them for weeks which absolutely makes no sense.
A lady whose name I think is lashawna (not entirely sure) met my brother and I at the door at 7:59 looking visibly annoyed that my card was not scanning, I have 24 hour access, my bother does not (although he is a member), we drove in the rain and were set to arrive at least 5 min before close hoping to get him 24 hour access as well so that we could workout together, but had to slow down due to the weather. As I was speaking to Ms Lashawna it turned exactly 8pm and she told my brother everything is already shut down. She clearly did not have a heart for customer service and only cared about going home. I understand if we were egregiously late but it was a matter of one minute, why is everything shut down at 7:59? Why not have a servant heart and help someone out for a maximum of 5 minutes? Seriously so disappointing when people do not care beyond their EXACT to the minute hours. Another woman was there with big glasses and big bangs and also gave me a ton of attitude, rolled her eyes and scoffed at me as well.
I love going to the Y, but this one is really dirty. The work out machine area is covered in dust and muck. It's gross. The childcare attendant walked off ignoring me and then just told me they are too understaffed. Ill drive an extra 15 minutes to go to another Y. It's a shame because this one is so close to me, but I dont want to go back here.
