This pool has been closed since Summer 2023, now Summer 2024. It was closed last year due to it not being enough lifeguards. Idk why this year. This is by far one of the best neighborhood pools in the West Allis/Milwaukee area. 2 Summers in a row, I’m hoping they don’t tear the pool down.

This is July 2023 McCarthy Park pool is not open maybe it’s because of Covid but the other parks and pools are open. Me and my girls arrive and the pool is dry to the bone. Not sure if it’s for maintenance or other reasons but it’s almost the end of summer and the pool is not open.

My 10 yr old daughter was very nervous to take the swim test. Not sure why, because she can definitely 🏊. A young man a couple years younger took it and passed. He basically doggy paddled and stopped twice. The 16yr old life guard also only made him swim half the distance. Both of his parents were there so maybe that made a difference. Needless to say, he failed her. I confronted him and he lied and said he never passes anyone that stops. My niece also took it, a female life guard failed her so she immediately went to the next one and passed. Go figure! I think they need to train them again or give them a refresher course. Very disappointed. Forgot to mention that 90% of the chairs are broken.
