Recreational facility featuring an outdoor pool, an outdoor track, a gym, and a basketball court.
The indoor swimming pools at the Asser Levy Recreation Center are generally maintained at a comfortable temperature, typically ranging from 80 to 82°F (approximately 26.7 to 27.8°C), consistent with standard practices for NYC Parks indoor pools.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This recreational center is highly praised for its excellent value and affordability, offering a wide array of amenities for a low price, including a well-equipped gym, indoor and outdoor pools (with a standout heated indoor pool), billiards, ping pong, and various fitness classes like Tai Chi. Reviewers consistently highlight its clean, friendly, and community-oriented atmosphere, often noting it's less crowded than other facilities. While some mention that the facilities could use updates, the overall experience is considered great value. However, one negative review points out a significant issue with unhelpful customer service regarding membership sign-up.

Have only used the gym, but it’s a fantastic weight room for what you are paying ($75/6 months). Better than Blink and other budget gyms. At one third of the price. Plus you get access to every rec center, and everything inside (at this location, indoor/outdoor pools, billiards table, ping pong, dance studio, line dancing classes, full locker rooms)
Clean, friendly, and community-oriented. The heated indoor pool is a standout and often less crowded than other NYC rec centers. The gym is basic but affordable, and they offer free classes in a welcoming atmosphere. Facilities could use some updates, but overall it's great value
It has a big gym with lots of equipment and direct access to indoor and outdoor pools (indoor pool was closed though). Pretty cool it has ping pong and a pool table too. It wasn't busy at all at the gym or the outdoor pool when I went.
My home gym destination for the facilities and Tai Chi class after a brisk walk along the East River esplanade
I went there all the way from Queens to get my membership and they told me they don’t have the form. There was a printer right next to the front desk but didn’t bother printing it out and told me to come next day and bring it myself! Place looks good but service is 0.
