British Swim School at LA Fitness - Kearny offers swim lessons for all ages and skill levels in a convenient indoor facility located within the LA Fitness gym.
The indoor pool is consistently heated to a comfortable 85-86 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 29.4-30 degrees Celsius) year-round.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the swim school are mixed, with strong praise for individual instructors alongside significant operational criticisms. Many parents highly commend instructors such as Gaby, Gabbie, and Estrella for their natural enthusiasm, patience, professionalism, and personalized approach, noting remarkable improvement in children's swimming and survival skills in a short time. However, several negative points are consistently highlighted: the water temperature is often unsuitable for infant classes, leading to discomfort and shivering, despite initial assurances of monitoring. Classes are not organized by age, which can result in infants being grouped with older, sometimes disruptive children. Frequent class cancellations due to emergency pool maintenance are a recurring issue, with no refunds offered and rescheduling options often inconvenient for parents. Furthermore, there is an inadequacy of facilities, specifically only one changing table for 5-8 children, and the price of approximately $50 for a 30-minute class is considered high.

My son gets so excited to know he’s coming in for his classes. Gaby is such a natural and enthusiastic instructor. She pays attention to each kid and has a personalized approach with each kid to help them overcome any challenge or better their personal skills. The kids are really enthusiastic with her and my son does so good in her lessons.
1. The main issue is that the water temperature is not suitable for infant classes. We were led to believe they closely monitor the water temperature, but when we asked again, they said they can't control it. My kid would get out of the water shivering and with blue lips. 2. Classes are not organized by age, so your 5-month-old kid could be in the same class as a 3-year-old who won't stop misbehaving... crying...[something that happened to us multiple times] 3. In one month, classes were canceled twice due to emergency pool maintenance. You don't get a refund; instead, you have to reschedule to another class… if your schedule doesn't fit... tough luck. 4. Only one changing table for all 5-8 kids. Price around $50 per class (30 min)3. British Swim School has been a stellar experience, Estrella is by far one of their best instructors. My son Damien could be more than a handful at times and she’s so incredibly patient, kind and professional at her job. Her composure is unmatched and very skilled at what she does. She deserves a promotion no doubt in my mind.
Joined the swim school over 7 months ago and my son and I are very happy with our swim lessons. The skills we learn at the school are survival skills that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Our instructor Gabbie is great. She is very patient and is always trying to teach us different techniques to improve our swimming.
By far best class Julian has had! Gaby did a phenomenal job with him and the techniques she used improved his skills tremendously in a short time. We look forward to more classes with Gaby! (Julian Minnow class)
