What are people saying (AI review summary)? Goldfish Swim School receives predominantly positive reviews, with consistent praise for its excellent, dedicated, and professional instructors who are highly effective at teaching and building confidence in children, even those with water fear or specific needs like eczema due to the gentle chlorine and clean water. Reviewers frequently highlight the consistently warm pool temperature as a significant comfort factor. The overall staff, from teachers to front desk personnel (like Kelly), are described as caring, friendly, responsive, and supportive. Facilities are generally well-regarded, offering amenities like cubbies, changing rooms, on-site essentials, and ample parking (especially at the Glen Oaks location). Children reportedly enjoy their classes and make considerable progress. However, a notable negative point raised is concern over value for money, with one reviewer feeling that the 1:4 student-to-coach ratio in 30-minute classes translates to insufficient individual coaching time. Additionally, a significant complaint is the 'bureaucratic' membership policy that forfeits paid-for makeup sessions if a membership is stopped, requiring re-subscription to utilize them.

I absolutely love this swim school! I stumbling upon this location when trying to find a place for my toddler to swim consistently. I've visited a different goldfish in the past so wasn't sure if this location would be the same but it exceeded my expectations. It was so easy to sign up. There's also an app and you can also text them which I love. They respond literally right away. You can get a make up token if you can't make the class. The instructor is so great. she's so kind and so good with the kids. We do the class on Saturdays mini 2. We love it. They also give u a welcome bag with goodies. They have a bunch of cubbies, showers, changing rooms. But the most important thing is...the temperature of the pool! It's always so warm and inviting. Never cold. Ever. Which makes sense. Who wants to learn to swim in a cold pool? Also if for some reason you ever forget an essential like a swim diapers or swimsuit or towel, they have all these things on site for purchase. Lots of parking. I love this place. Apparently they also offer birthday parties. I haven't had a birthday party there but I'm sure you can inquire about it
Very torn writing this review. Honestly, the coaches are great & our 6 yr old did enjoy going to classes. However, regarding value for money as well as the bureaucracy of these membership polices-it’s a strong NO. Firstly, for the beginners classes- the ratio is 1 coach to 4 students for a 30 min session. Literally, that’s allocating approximately 7-8 mins of coaching per child!!! Additionally, once you STOP your membership-the program doesn’t allow your MAKE UP sessions. This means you are out of pocket- PAID for classes you NEVER receive unless you RE-SUBSCRIBE as a MONTHLY paying customer. We will be find another organization where customer service and value are an important part of the business.
I can’t recommend Goldfish Swim School enough! I searched for so long to find the right place because my daughter has eczema and most pools use way too much chlorine. Outdoor pools only work in summer, and even the saltwater pool we tried didn’t work out because she didn’t connect with the coach. A friend suggested Goldfish, and it was such a relief — the water is always super clean, and the chlorine is gentle enough for her skin. Her very first teacher, Ms. Alani, was amazing. She’s so kind, patient, and professional — she helped my daughter overcome her fear of water in just a couple of lessons. By the third class she was already putting her head underwater, something I never thought I’d see! Later, with her G2 teacher Shanon ( She is extremely professional, detail-oriented ) and her progress was incredible. Just after three lessons in G2 she moved up to G3, and watching her swim with confidence brought tears to my eyes. Every single person here — from the teachers to the lifeguards — is caring, professional, and truly invested in the kids. The atmosphere is so positive and supportive. I’m so grateful we found Goldfish — it’s been a life-changing experience for my daughter and for us as parents.
Both my kids have been here for a year, now 9 and 11. The staff and teachers here are amazing! They are great with kids, friendly and super easy to talk and work with. I really appreciate their care in teaching the kids and ensuring they are doing the necessary work to improve. Whether on the phone or in person, they've always been so easy to talk to and work with. All the instructors are super nice with helpful tips provided for each child's progress. Both my kids love being here and i really can't speak highly enough of the staff and the support. Having had different instructors for my kids who moved from glider 1 until Swim Force, I really appreciate the breadth of instructors and the way to talk/explain to my kids. Swim force, though tiring for them is also enjoyable. While they dread me taking them each week for an hour, once there.. they enjoy it and have fun. Family swim is also great, especially in the winters with the heated pool!
There are tons of Goldfish Swim Schools now, and while I haven't took classes at any of the other ones, I can say the Glen Oaks location is probably one of the best ones. We've been attending for 2 years now. First of all, parking is EASY and free compared to a lot of the city ones. Second, the school is super clean, respectful, and has a wonderful consistent staff. Certain staff members stand out as teachers because they are always present, they help tweak my children's techniques even if it's minor, and they always give specific feedback at the end of class. Joseph and Genesis were my daughter's favorites for a while! The staff at the desk is also very helpful. Kelly goes above and beyond to make sure that all our questions are answered and that we are well taken care of. She always encourages and compliments my children before and after swimming, and it always feels so personal with her there. I highly recommend this school if you want your child to learn swimming in a safe, clean space with a maximum of only 4 kids per group.
