EH🙄 it really is a mixed bag. You don’t know what your experience is gonna be like it could be really good or not so good. It’s never consistently good. Or consistently bad for that matter. So about two years ago, I enrolled my teen daughter into a swimming class after the first session she couldn’t make it to all the others. I tried to either get my money back or put the money towards another class or another event at the Y. The person I spoke to wasn’t willing to give me anything. I explained the situation-I even had a doctors note explaining why she couldn’t attend. So they kept my almost $400. And as a single mom, that’s a lot of money. I was not so happy. My thing is this. If you are there to serve the community and you really care about your members, then you think you would work with them right? so now I refuse to become a member of the Riverdale Y again. Roll the dice 🤷🏻‍♀️good luck. Hope you get them on a good day.

I went to the Riverdale Y to sign up for a summer gym membership. Initially, when I called, the person on the phone was very nice. However, when I arrived at the Y on a Friday afternoon to ask about the membership, the girl at the desk was quite short with me and didn’t say much. I inquired if joining in mid-June would still allow me to get the membership for two months under the same summer deal. Unfortunately, she was brief and not very pleasant, especially considering I was interested in signing up. As a result, I decided not to complete my registration.

I usually don't write reviews immediately upon sign up but I feel obliged to after the outstanding service I received from Julio and Goomel. They both worked diligently to accommodate my fitness needs as a service member. Thank you very much.

If it was possible I'd rate this place NEGATIVE 5 stars. This place is completely political in nature and if you don't espouse the democrat brand politics of this place you will be treated like an outcast and eventually banned from coming here altogether. The staff who run the place will make up any excuse to have a person banned. I got a nasty letter from their previous Chief Operating Officer and Director of the Senior Center/Social Worker threatening to call security on me and have me removed from the premises if I participated in senior activities, which are paid for with taxpayer dollars. They have no activities for middle-aged or young adults and they could care less to provide them with a fulfilling environment or activities to participate in. The mentioned individuals have bullied other friends of mine who attend the New Beginnings Program as well for being different in their harmless particular ways. This place preaches tolerance but many of the staff running the place are anything but. Even worse, I am next door neighbors to this place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this depressing, toxic and sterile place at all costs! This place is in bed with local democratic politicians, who likely are providing them monies for their activities as the politicians themselves make frequent visits there to advance their regressive political agendas.
