Awesome gym! The pool is well maintained and there is a large hot tub. There is an accompanying patio that overlooks Manhattan, Hoboken and Jersey City. The view is stunning. The staff are easy going and they have plenty of towels, often warm from the dryer and smelling fresh. Everything is handicap accessible. The pool, the hot tub, the sauna and at least one disabled shower in the locker room. I love this freaking gym!

I was really excited to try this gym, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The front desk staff lacked basic customer service, I was told to “just look around,” and although he offered to show me, it felt like he didn’t actually want to. When I entered the locker room, there were puddles of water all over the floor, which was already a red flag. While the view from the gym was nice, the equipment and gym floor were dirty, and the showers weren’t any better. Many of the machines were outdated, and a few didn’t even work at all.

My son completed his second session with instructor, Leila and I was extremely pleased with the way she made him comfortable in water. She exactly knows his comfort level and my so has responded to that very positively. The two sessions have been amazing so far as we hope he learns to swim soon with her.

I’ve been going to Xcel for almost four years and to this day I tell people it was the best gym decision I ever made. Not only is it the best deal for everything you get in a membership (turf room, showers, hot tub, sauna, tons of equipment, classes, etc.), but the staff is always upbeat, friendly, courteous and helpful. All around the it’s the exact type of environment you’d want to work out in. Best gym in Hoboken hands down. Thank you for running such a great place!
