What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews cover two distinct facilities: the Farber Swim school and an indoor soccer facility. The Farber Swim school is praised for its warm and comfortable water, great learning environment for adults, and excellent locker room facilities including warm showers with good pressure. However, it faces criticism regarding its management and organization, with issues cited such as overbilling, lack of communication, unresponsiveness, and inflexibility with scheduling and makeups. The indoor soccer facility receives positive remarks for being a cool indoor place with a beer bar, clean bathrooms, good bar service, and accommodating both male and female teams, though it notes a typical 'sweat' smell and a simple beer-only bar. Conversely, the indoor soccer facility is heavily criticized for unprofessional and disrespectful management practices, including frequently canceling pre-paid games for higher-paying clients, denying confirmed reservations, poor customer service, and an alleged intent to withhold refunds, leading to highly negative experiences for many patrons.
Reviews
Review is for the Farber Swim school. Water is super warm and comfortable. Great learning environment and love that they cater to adults as well. Large locker rooms upstairs that are shared with the dance academy. Showers are warm and have good water pressure.
I don't personally play here but my boyfriend does. It's pretty cool indoor soccer place. They even have a beer bar inside. And it looks like they can open up the sidewalls and actually let air flow through. It's pretty cool that they do male and female soccer teams. The whole place smells like seat but that's normal. The bathrooms are clean the service at the bar is awesome and every Monday I guess you can flip a coin and they will give you a discount on your beer. Also if you are looking to have a red beer bring your own V8. They don't have lemon or limes or any of that other stuff just beer. Keep it simple.
We used to play there for the last three years, during this time they always cancel our games if someone else offer them more hourly rate than us. They have been doing this for the last three years, canceling our games even though we paid the full amounts for a whole season in advance( 4 months), but owner is a greedy, dis-respectable,and unprofessional made us looking for other place. I don't recommend this place at all.
We have been having our 8 year old take swim lessons here for several months. While the swim instructors are amazing, the management and organization of this place are sorely lacking. We've had issues with being overbilled, lack of response for days to answer questions by the manager, lack of communication causing instructors to be on lunch when we show up for a lesson, lack of flexibility to accommodate makeups during summer camp, and the final incident was the manager refusing to let us buy an extra lesson (the instructor was available) because she prefers a laid out schedule. There are so many other pools in Portland, we are taking our business to a facility that actually wants customers and business.
Stay away from this place! The management are simply unprofessional. I booked the small field on Wed for the next Sun. We played there for months before lock-down and this was supposed to be our second game after they opened. The team members reshuffled their schedules to play the game , we arrive and they simply said that we have no reservation, really!! I showed them the phone log, the person name, the advance log from my bank and then guess what, the story became that SOMEONE called them on Friday and cancelled the game, really! we are at the door on the game day and I did not receive my refund because of the cancellation. (guess they were planning to keep the money). The manager phone and his staff have no understanding of customer service, they keep denying that I have a reservation even with all the proofs (from the discussion, we understood that no one using the big field which we didn't book and we saw other people getting inside that they looked ready to play soccer, left us wondering it's either very poor scheduling skills, booking the same spot twice or the other players paid a hire fee ....) At the end, the staff member brought out my deposit and we left (How generous even they denied and no apology). Just an horrible experience, will never go back to this place and I strongly recommend that you stay away from this place too.
