What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews paint a mixed but generally positive picture of a family-friendly outdoor pool with a unique roof structure that provides shade, eliminating the need for sunscreen for many. Key positives include ample seating, a variety of amenities like a playground, baby pool, basketball court, diving board, and water slide, as well as options to bring food or use the snack bar (with an account charging system). The pool is often described as not too crowded, and holiday events with DJs and games are popular. Some members praise the manager and the improved water temperature after a new heater was installed. However, several drawbacks are noted: the pool can still be too cold for some, especially early in the season, despite a heater, with one reviewer specifically citing persistent cold water and expressing doubts about the heater's use. Swim team practices and meets can lead to temporary closures. There are conflicting reports on lifeguard professionalism, with one reviewer highly critical of distracted staff. Another significant concern raised was frequent pool closures due to equipment failures (heater, motor), leading one member to regret their short-term membership.
Reviews
We have had a summer membership at this pool for the last 3 years and we love it. It is an outdoor pool with a roof over it - it's hard to imagine until you experience it yourself - but we love it because we never have to put sunscreen on ourselves or our kids. There are tables and chairs with umbrellas for shade and there are lounge chairs in the sun if you want to catch some rays. Some past reviews mention the pool being too cold. We did experience that the first summer we joined but they have since gotten a new heater for the pool and we've had no issues at all the past two summers with the pool temp. We have never found it too crowded and can always find space for our family. We've ordered a pizza to be delivered to the pool. We often bring food and drinks from home. And sometimes the pool manager Johanna will hire a food truck to park outside on Friday nights. As a member, you can bring guests for $5 per person and you can also rent the party room for a reasonable price to host a larger group for a special occasion. There is a playground, baby pool area, and basketball court. The pool itself is large - there's a shallow end and a deep end with a diving board and water slide. There's also a snack bar that has ice cream bars, chips, candy and drinks. I always put some cash on our account at the beginning of the summer and then we just charge against our account by giving our last name to the staff. My kids love this aspect of it and it feels very nostalgic and wholesome to me. On holidays, there are parties with a DJ, a potluck cookout and some organized games like inner tube relay races and water balloon toss, etc. It's classic summer fun.
Great pool for families! Covered by a open air canopy so it never gets too hot. Plenty of tables with umbrellas, a snack bar, diving board, slide, baby pool, play equipment right beside the pool and easy parking. We will definitely be joining again!
Been summer members for 2 years. Pleased with the experience. I haven’t seen any unprofessional behavior from the life guards. As noted in other reviews, the pool is covered which has its pros and cons. The biggest pro is that my kids don’t have to wear sunscreen unless they are going to the baby pool (this is a huge plus for us). It does as others have mentioned make the water cooler than normal. In the middle of a July afternoon, it isn’t a problem but especially at the beginning of the season it is chilly (my kids still swim though). The pool also has a water slide, baby pool (not covered), playground, and a 1M diving board. You can also rent out a room at the pool house for birthdays. The snack bar has very reasonably priced snacks (mostly candy, sodas, and ice cream). Another good thing is there is a part of the main pool where it starts off at something like 2 and a half feet and gradually gets deeper which my boys (2 and 4) appreciate and stay in the whole time. The manager is very nice and helpful. The only real con is that they have swim team practices and meets. During the practices and meets. Part to all of the pool may be closed off for a few hours. You receive email notifications in advance of the meets. It works for our family.
Last year (2018) we were members and participated in swim team. Needless to say, we were at the pool many times over the swim season and the remaining summer. Based on last year's experience we did NOT rejoin the pool for 2019. After the tent structure went up, the water was never warm enough to enjoy the pool for very long. On multiple occasions my daughter's lips would be blue from being cold. She was shivering after about 10 minutes in the water. I was told they had a water heater but I guess the ownership decided to never turn it on. It was a real disappointment. We weren't going to spend a lot money joining again in "hopes" they warm the water to an enjoyable temperature. Another major issue was with the life guards, who were subpar at best.... at least according to my wife, a former lifeguard for 6+ years. They seemed very distracted, on their phones or chatting with friends. This behavior wasn't 100% of the time but certainly enough to make us lose confidence.
Purchased membership for a month but I could use the pool only twice because it was closed for one reason on the other through out the month - heater failure, motor failure etc etc etc. I am so grateful that i did not waste my money on yearly membership.
