What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Hazen Pool indicate a mix of operational issues, facility concerns, and significant dissatisfaction with swimming lessons. Recent complaints include unannounced closures, two parking lot break-ins in July 2025, and a consistent lack of warm water in male bathrooms. While some find it a 'nice pool,' a common suggestion is for more seating. Swimming lessons are heavily criticized for poor organization, favoritism by high school student instructors, overcrowded classes, and insufficient instruction time per child (as little as 5 minutes in a 30-minute lesson), leading to a lack of skill improvement. Management is described as unresponsive to these issues, stating classes are 'fixed.' Historical reviews from the 1990s also recalled unorganized classes and lifeguards yelling at children.

I swim weekly since 2023. Have to swim at Hazen Pool 2 summers now when Lindbergh pool is closed for 2 months. If you do NOT live near Hazen, best to call 1st to double check if they are in fact open according to their schedule. Because they closed once in July WITHOUT notice. I did not see any negative thing last summer. But so far this summer, TWO breaks-in have happened two weeks in a row since 07/29/2025, in the parking lot of Hazen, in the middle of the day. I am speechless!
My son has started swimming lessons at Hazen Pool on 1/8/2018. Until now he has visited the pool four times. Three of those visits there was no warm water in the male bathroom. I have informed the registration two times, the lady promised to tell that to the manager, but there is no any change... Every day many children enjoying the pool, it is winter and the water contents a lot of chlorine. Please, Mr./Mrs. Manager do your job! Thank you!
My daughter is currently taking swimming lesson here. This is her fourth sessions (not classes!). I am extremely dissatisfied with organization. The teacher plays favoritism and the Manager do not do anything. She kept saying there is nothing she can do because classes are fixed/not flexible, hence my daughter is stuck with the class that she's in. Moreover, there are too many students per class for type of "teachers"there. The "teachers" are high students. They do not know how to delegate the 30 minutes time frame to give each student a fair amount of time. My daughter has not improved her swimming skills since starting there. I do not recommend this place. The overall price seems cheaper than other places but if your child only gets about 5 minutes out of the 30 minutes for each lesson, going somewhere where they actually encourage children to participate in all parts of each half-hour lesson make a better economy sense.
We took swimming lessons here in the 1990's and while we enjoyed it I felt the classes were a bit unorganized. We spent many summers here and I hate to say it but if a child doesn't want to learn to swim they shouldn't be forced to. I recall getting screamed and yelled at a lot by the life guards for just being a kid.
Nice pool but could definitely use more seating
