What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this pool are mixed, with several positive aspects alongside some significant criticisms. Many users praise the facility for its swim lessons, highlighting great instructors who effectively teach children. The staff, including lifeguards, are often described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, with a dedication to maintaining consistent procedures. Positive changes in management and customer service, particularly mentioning General Manager Scott, have also been noted. The facility offers a lap pool, a wading pool, and well-equipped locker rooms with showers, free lockers, and blow dryers, all at a good value. However, a notable negative experience involved unclear and inconsistently enforced rules, particularly regarding the use of flotation mats for young children, leading one family to find it not baby/toddler friendly and question the true reasons behind staff decisions. Other criticisms include the pool being described as small and lacking showers directly next to the pool.

We went to the pool on Saturday for the open swim session with our 1 year old. My husband took the orange flotation mat (in one of the photos) out and put our baby on it at the corner of the pool. This staff who saw it since the beginning (I sat close to him) waited until my husband put our baby on it and yelled across the pool saying we can’t use it because the pool was too crowded (see the photo). My husband put it away and saw that the other end of the pool was not crowded so he went to ask that guy. Guess what? He still said no. This time he said because his supervisor said so. So we are not sure what is the real reason. We wanted to ask his supervisor but it was 8 minutes left in the session so we let it go. It was unfortunate because the mat was perfect for my baby to play in the water. Overall - not baby/toddler friendly. We were considering buying the annual pass but this definitely makes me hesitant. Small pool. No showers next to the pool like the one in Federal way. You can’t use everything they put out near the pool ( eg, flotation mat) so when you see pictures in the review of kids playing with them and thought that your kids might like it and decided to come, you might be disappointed.
This is a nice committee pool. My daughter takes swim lessons here and loves it. The instructors work great with the children and children learn quickly. Since my wife and I enjoy boating and spending time on the water it was important to us our daughter learn how to swim for her safety. I am confident in her abilities she has learned. I really appreciate the piece of mind that if something happened she has the skills could help save her life.
I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with the change in management. The new high level of customer service made me a satisfied customer. Scott the General Manager is great to talk to and helpful and revolving any issues in a quick and respectful manner.
Friendly staff, attentive lifeguards, great lap pool + wading pool. The locker room had showers, free lockers (BYOL), and a wall of blow dryers (men side, though I imagine women side too). At $5 for a nonresident of Normandy Park or Des Moines and $4 for a resident, can't beat that!
Extremely "efficient" with a "Young" Staff, but dedicated 2 seeing that the "Procedures" they have in "Effect" there, R carried out, "Daily" and "Maintained" consistently, 4 the "benefit" not only 4 the "customers" coming into the "Facility" but "Also" 4 themselves, wking there each and "everyday" and @ early Hrs. (5:30am) and through the day, "late" sometimes !!! I feel "extremely" fortunate 2 have "returned" (started going there over, 14 Yrs ago) and found the "Facility" even more accommodating, and "Pro-Active" considering, the "Challenge" they had 2 be faced with. ;>) "High "5's" 2 them all, 4 a job-well-done" !!! ;>) "THANK U" !!! ;>)
