Really fun, a lot to do! This place isn't dirty, they have a pretty popular (and talented) swim team. And their gym is very clean and spacious. They also have the kindest people working there.
Played tennis there, the courts were easy to reserve. The pickles all courts are nice and shiny, but tennis courts are a bit dated, with small cracks on the pavement, still playable but not for pro tournaments.
This place is really nice and clean. The coaches really care for the swimmers and make sure that they improve and work hard during their swimming. the gym is nice and spacious but I wish that their were more different types of machines. (And a way to not make it smell like feet every time I walked in there 😿) but I love this pool, it helped me find my greatest friend (hehe Camila if ur reading this I LOVE YOU !!💕)
Sadly, our family recently moved and had to leave NHSTC after years of membership, but I wanted to describe our positive experience there. Perhaps the best part is the swim team. Both of my daughters swam in summer for several years, and the coaches are just wonderful. They have a large team of coaches, and all of them are great. In addition, my older daughter did winter swim during Covid, and it's a great low-key alternative to more intense year-round swim programs. My youngest took swimming lessons, and overall, we had a better and more pleasant experience than taking lessons at the Newcastle Y. In summer, they also have a diving team and a water polo team. My kids also had a good experience taking summer tennis lessons. Having two pools means it's generally not too hard to reserve a lane to swim in, sharing with a max of one other person, while in the summer, kids can play in the second pool all afternoon / evening. There is a hot tub which kids and adults alike enjoy. I've had several birthday parties at NHSTC for my daughter. It's extremely affordable and you just reserve a couple of outdoor tables, shaded, and they charge only for the kids, not the parents who are not swimming, but just sitting and watching. I think the fees are very reasonable for what you get. If you only like to go to the pool a few times a summer, it's probably not worth it. But if you enjoy going a lot, it's a great deal. I really only have a couple minor complaints. First, they stopped putting up the bubble in winter, and my daughter ultimately quite winter swim because she couldn't handle the cold. Second, the baby pool hours are very limited and sometimes inaccurate on the website. When my youngest was a toddler, this was often very frustrating. The baby pool was also out of commission for a very long time - hopefully it's now permanently repaired.
Newport Hills swim and tennis club is open and taking reservations for swimming! Awesome place! Nice pool plenty of great programs for kids.
