Family-friendly, shallow water-park facility featuring an outdoor pool for swimming and lessons, plus a wading pool.
The pool at Peter Kirk Pool is heated, typically maintained at a comfortable temperature ranging from 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 28 to 29 degrees Celsius).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the Kirkland community pool reveal a mixed but generally negative sentiment, primarily due to its highly restrictive operating hours (closing at 5 pm on weekdays, closed weekends and summers), which are deemed inaccessible for most residents, especially those with normal work schedules or disabilities. Several users criticize the pool's management for poor oversight, frequently changing rules without notification, and failing to address issues like very cold water (not heated to required public standards), unruly swimmers, and unsafe behavior, with teenage lifeguards reportedly being too lenient. While one instructor (Eric) was highly praised for swimming lessons, other lesson experiences were criticized for being too short (30 minutes) and not challenging students enough. On the positive side, the pool itself is described as 'nice' by some, and current COVID-19 protocols like capacity limits (70 people total, 10 in wading, 60 in adult pool) and hourly cleaning are noted, though the lack of shade is a common complaint. Many express a desire for more open swim availability, longer operating hours, and year-round access.

First time taking swimming lessons this summer and I have to say Eric was an amazing instructor and I hope to have them again in the future. I wish that the pool was open all year long. Also wish that the swimming classes were more than 30 minutes. It went too fast.
Leaving this because what kind of “community pool” is only open till 5pm weekdays and then CLOSED weekends and during summer even 😡 Welp guess I’ll still never get to go because my partner works a normal job. Idk where anyone finds the opportunity to go thanks to the awful hours. Kirkland’s pool options are abysmal especially when you’re a low income disabled person that needs more flexible hours. And this isn’t even remotely flexible for most normal people. Been here 8 years, haven’t seen a single opportunity to get over there to even try it out :/
Pool is great except for the very cold water. Management very poor! Unruly swimmers, unruley kids, ramming into other swimmers, kids jumping in ontop of others in the pool. People getting hurt, and the teenage lifeguards response is its OK. Management changes rules daily without clearly informing customers of new changes. Ridiculous! Worst of all they refuse to heat pool to the required temperature public pools heat to. Also the lack of willingness to find a way to maximum to have pool available for open swim every day and all day! They can utilize a part of the pool for swim lessons, and keep another part for open swim. It is not like this pool is a high volume of people that come to swim here. Let's try to serve the Kirkland residents in a better way. Awful experience, save your money and go somewhere else. Nice pool in bothell.
Here's an updated review for COVID times. There is a maximum of 70 people allowed in the 2 pools (10 in the wading pool, 60 in the adult pool). It helps to come 5-10 minutes before swim time to get tickets. Credit, debit cards, and cash are accepted. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a (paying) adult whether the adult swims or not. There is hardly any shade so come prepared for that situation (sun screen, hat, whatever you need). On the hour they have everyone leave for 10 minutes and clean/spray disinfectant everywhere (and pay again if you are going to more than one session). It's a nice pool.
Pool is good but the swim lessons are not great. The instructors dont challenge the students at all.
