It serves as a popular recreational spot, offering a variety of programs including open swim, lap swimming, swim lessons, and water exercise for the Vashon-Maury Island community, typically operating from late spring through early fall.
The Vashon Pool is a heated outdoor facility. While daily temperatures may fluctuate, the water is generally maintained at a comfortable level, often around 80-82°F (approximately 26.7-27.8°C), for the enjoyment of swimmers during its operational season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Vashon pool is generally highly regarded for its warm water, all-weather swimming under a bubble, and suitability for lap swimming, often being uncrowded. Swimmers appreciate the accommodating staff, including lifeguards who ensure safety and are described as super nice. The facility offers accessibility options like stairs and has warm dressing rooms. It's also popular for swim teams and themed 'First Friday' events. While the water temperature can vary, the overall experience is positive, with unique observations like eagles overhead. However, a significant concern was raised about one male lifeguard who allegedly treated female coworkers badly and acted creepily and condescendingly towards female guests.

Loved swimming in any weather under the bubble. Warm water, they can put stairs in if you're not comfortable using the ladders to get out/in the pool, and the dressing room is not cold. I really love lap swimming here!
This pool is great! I've been here many times and have always enjoyed it. The lifeguards are always very accommodating and make sure that I and other swimmers feel safe. One guard in particular has a strapping mustache, and he's super nice!
Vashon pool is a great place to swim laps outside. It's rarely crowded, and the staff are super nice. The water temperature varies, but you will see eagles circling overhead, so it really doesn't matter. 8 )
It was a good pool however the male life guard seemed to treat his coworkers badly which are all female and seemed rather creepy and condescending to other guests especially female ones. Pool and other staff seemed very nice and just wanted to enjoy the day overall.
The staff is great and the pool is warm! Our kids are on the Seals swim team and have been absolutely thrilled with the program. First Friday swims with a theme are a blast too.
