What are people saying (AI review summary)? Many reviewers express dissatisfaction with Hunters Ridge Pool, citing rude and inattentive lifeguards, and unhelpful office staff who are often unaware of activities and rules. Common complaints include water aerobic classes monopolizing the entire pool and lap lane, and a lack of enforcement for the designated lap lane, which is frequently misused by non-lap swimmers. Several users report frustration with inconsistent and restrictive entry policies, such as strict checks for non-Gahanna taxpayers despite previous allowances, and a new rule prohibiting unaccompanied children under 15 due to previous issues with unruly teens. These policy changes and operational problems have led some members to feel a loss of value in their memberships and to seek alternative facilities. One review, however, notes a lovely time with no complaints during a short visit, and another praises a park component for children, despite the absence of swings.

Lifeguards are rude and not attentive. Lifeguards and office staff are clueless about activities and rules. According to the FB page, there are water aerobic classes are Saturday 8/16, 8/23, 8/30 from 10-11 am. When I arrived at the pool at 11 am, the class took up the whole pool and the lap lane. I asked the office staff when the class would be over and they didn’t know. The lifeguards didn’t know either. This class spread out over the whole pool until almost 12:30. There are a few of us who need to swim laps for health reasons. There is only one lap lane at Hunters Ridge but the guards never enforce who uses it. I know the pool is small, but it’s not fair that these classes take up the whole pool and members can’t swim laps. There are always adults in the lap lane on flotation devices and kids jumping in there. Would not be a big deal to put a sign at each end stating it’s for swimming laps only or have the guards tell folks to move and let the swimmers have the lane. I was told earlier in the year that if I wanted to swim laps, I would have to go to the Gahanna Swimming Pool…which I did. But it is not open now.
We weren't there for long, later in the day, but it was a lovely time. No complaints.
The Park Was Very Good For My Granboys Too Play. Only Drawback No Swings.
After 9 years of coming to this pool and have been there 3x already this year, TODAY we are told we cannot enter because we are Gahanna schools but Columbus taxes. They even took my ID these past couple of years and made entering the facility a total production but confirmed i could pay to enter. Today we stood there 10 min while they are cross referencing the auditors website. Again, we were just there yesterday. So we took our money elsewhere to another Gahanna pool that was EXTREMELY nice and didn't make a production out of a swim day. I'm glad I don't pay Gahanna taxes as I would never want to support an establishment like Hunters Ridge Pool.
They changed there policy because a group unruly teens. Now the rest of the children under the age of 15 years old are not permitted. We paid the yearly community fees and it has lost all value. We will not be renewing next year. Instead, we will just get a day pass for when we can escort our kids. Too bad and too sad Gahanna mismanaged this situation to an already low budget.
