Fitness chain featuring indoor and outdoor pools and a bar.
The facility includes two primary indoor pools: a Lap Pool designed for swimming laps and general exercise, typically maintained at a cooler temperature suitable for active swimming, and a Warm Water Pool. The Warm Water Pool is kept at a significantly higher temperature, making it ideal for therapy, gentle recreation, and younger swimmers, providing a more comfortable and relaxed aquatic experience.

I am very disappointed in the WAC in Brookfield. I am a respite caregiver, and the family I work with has been going to the WAC for about two years now. While we have had some great experiences at the facility, a situation occurred today that completely changed my want to go to the WAC facility anymore. Before mentioning the story, the WAC management reached out with some accommodation requests, but didn’t necessarily take into consideration the struggles a family can face when their child has severe autism, non-verbal, and Down syndrome. The different accommodations they offered didn’t give full support to the child I currently work with. With that being said, today I brought the two kids I work with to the WAC pool. We have been doing this all summer, and last winter as well. Since there is no male figure present in this families life, the 15 year old boy that I work with who has Down syndrome, autism, non-verbal and is at a cognitive intellect age of about 3-4 years old was brought into the women’s locker room. We went to the back corner, I brought him into the bathroom to change, and then we went straight out to the pool. We had a great time! When we left, we were approached by a staff member who strictly told us that we were not to use the women’s locker room again if he was in there. He needed to be under 3 years old to be allowed in the locker room. Therefore, we were told to go to the shared family locker room. In this case, the child I work with cannot physically go into the shared family locker room without plopping on the ground, screaming and yelling in fear, and putting up a physical fight. In his mind, he is not comfortable in the shared locker room. We found out later from management that a lady had complained about him being in the women’s locker room, and shared how disgusting and disturbing it was for a teenage male to be in the women’s locker room. So now, we don’t have a safe place to take the sweet, young boy to swim. He has been making amazing progress in his swimming and has been having so much fun with me and his family. Now, we don’t feel welcomed to go back, and it is very sad for this to occur to the sweetest boy who has the biggest heart. If you have an individual in your life who has a disability, I would not recommend using the WAC.
I have been a WAC member for almost 5 years now and it has worked out pretty well, especially with corporate discounting and reimbursement through my employer. It is clean, fairly well kept and I’ve had mixed interactions with staff. Some of them are quite rude and authoritative. Recently I have been quite frustrated to the availability of taking my child to swim there. During a recent heat wave in particular I have been very disappointed in the availability for outdoor open swim for children. First the pool was closed all day (which they don’t provide reasoning to). The next day the pool is adult swim all day long. I would think they could limit adult swim to a few hours in the early morning. I pay for a membership knowing that I can take my child to the outdoor pool to cool off, I'm not sure if this is the case anymore. Even with the recent party being adult only. Adults are entitled to childless life, but not a child-free world. Consider all options in the area prior to investing in a gym membership here, especially if you have kids. Contacted management about my concerns & feedback and I still have yet to receive a response, which says everything.
The Wisconsin Athletic Club (WAC) is a first-class facility with top-notch equipment, clean spaces, and a vibrant atmosphere. The group fitness classes are energizing and well-run, and the overall environment makes it a joy to work out here. While the experience is overwhelmingly positive, a little extra warmth from the Member Services team during admin tasks such as updating billing information etc. would make it even better. That said, the club’s stellar amenities and welcoming vibe more than make up for it.
The staff is great and they have a ton of workout equipment. The facility is always clean. I love how they have adult only swimming. Please continue this...there are too many parents who dont even watch their kids. I don't want to have to deal with that...I don't even like how the women's locker room has a bunch of children running amuck....jumping on the benches and jumping on the scales. People watch your children.
Joining the WAC is like finding a cheat code for fitness—top-notch equipment, classes that keep you coming back, and staff who genuinely care. It’s where my workouts are efficient and my excuses are few. Five stars for making the gym a place I actually look forward to visiting!
