Camp Deeny Riback is such a wonderful and nurturing place for young campers. My son has made great friends and learned so much. They taught him to swim and build confidence in the water. He has also developed an appreciation for sports that he didn't have before. I have been so impressed with the counselors and staff. They are true professionals who always have the best interests of the children in mind. I'm looking forward to sending my daughter this summer as well. As a working parent I have also found it invaluable they they offer extended care at the JCC so I can work my full day.
Amazing day camp experience esp for young campers! Also offers before care/after care at the JCC - key for working parents. My son loves the mini ropes course, mini tennis, mini ga-ga courts - really helps build confidence for kids. He's getting a great Jewish camp experience and making great lifelong friends outside of his school friends. He loves the bus ride - and never felt it was too long. I started him at 4 years old and we're getting ready for his 3rd summer coming up!
I am the mom of 2 children that attend Deeny Riback -- both who started when they were just 4 years old. Now my daughter is going into her SEVENTH year there and my son is going into his FOURTH year there. I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this camp. Before choosing a camp, I toured many in the area. I of course went to the camps that were known in my neighborhood to be, by general consensus, the camp that you send your kids to. However, when I toured those camps and then toured Deeny, there was huge differences that came across and, for me, the decision was a no brainer. Deeny Riback is a camp that made me feel very comfortable sending my 4 year olds. It had a camp within a camp for the little ones and was not too overwhelming. The group size was just right, the "mom" head counselor for the youngest groups was nurturing and oversaw all of the counselors in the young groups and the activities were designed to make each kid feel like they could do it all and be a super star. My daughter is now going into her seventh year. She is not a sleep away kid and loves Deeny. Her favorite activity is archery. Every day of the summer both my kids come home saying they had "the best day ever." ... something every parent loves to hear! I was worried my daughter would get bored as she got older, but she says she loves it there and eventually wants to be a LIT and then a counselor. The activities are varied, and they do plenty of trips as the kids get older. I couldn't ask for any more out of a camp for my children.
Camp Deeny Riback is the best place ever!!!! It is filled with fun, laughter, Jewish values, sports and more!!! Not only that but I met my husband there. My children are having the best summers and the smiles on their faces when they get on and off the bus truly say it all!!!
Next summer will be my son's 7th summer and my daughter's 5th. They absolutely love everything about camp: the sports, the dancing, their counselors, the swimming, the food and even the bus ride! The kids also learn good values (one summer my son won a mensch award), good sportsmanship and even the importance of tzedakah.
