The Matthew T. Doyle Natatorium, located at 1900 5th Ave N, Texas City, TX, USA, is a modern indoor aquatic facility primarily serving the Texas City Independent School District and the wider community. It features an 8-lane, 25-yard by 50-meter Olympic-sized competition pool and hosts a variety of activities including high school swimming, community open swims, swim lessons, and water aerobics, providing a vital resource for both athletic training and public recreation.
The facility's 8-lane, 25-yard by 50-meter competition pool is heated and consistently maintained at a temperature of approximately 80°F (26.7°C), ensuring comfortable conditions for competitive swimming, instructional programs, and recreational use throughout the year.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The natatorium generally receives high praise for its cleanliness, excellent and large facilities, ample equipment, decent hours, and professional, friendly staff including lifeguards and managers. Many consider it the best in Galveston County, noting it's never overcrowded and superior to chain clubs. However, a significant concern was raised regarding the large pool's heater being out of order since before Thanksgiving, causing a prolonged closure, and the smaller heated pool also being temporarily closed due to chemical imbalances, negatively impacting a disabled veteran's aquatic therapy.

Very clean. Pool is nice and people are friendly
I Love It. It is the best Natatorium in Galveston County. The Life guards are fantastic and so are the managers. I have no FEAR. They all are professionals and willing to help in any way they can.
Nice facilities. Love watching my grandson set records there. Go Utes!
Excellent pool, amazingly large facilities with ample equipment. Decent hours, friendly staff and I've NEVER seen it overcrowded. Beats the chain clubs by a landslide.
I'm a Disabled Veteran living in the Texas City/La Marque area and have to swim for Aquatic Therapy. How Long will the large pool be shut down? The heater has been out since before Thanksgiving. Does it take that long to fix a heater and today the heated small pool is closed do to the chemicals being off.
