If parliament funkadelic made a pool, this would be it. If a DJ were to always think of a pool when he let the bass drop, this would be it. If King Julien from Madagascar ever sang "I like to move it" while jumping off a 1960s high dive, this would be the pool where that would happen. The triple lindy was first performed here. Bill Murray has a lifetime pass, and may or may not (wouldn't you like to know) have dived into this pool while holding a beer can and wearing a bucket hat. Hunter S Thompson learned to swim here, before he went to Vegas. Chuck Norris thought about fighting this pool, but declared it his equal. When Sean Connery said "welcome to the rock" he was referring to the rock at Forest Knolls. The team mascot, FO Baby, inspired 1. The feral child from Mad Max, 2. C.H.U.D. and surprisingly, 3. the designs of the Babadook and M3GAN's dance. Finally, when Prince spoke of purifying oneself in the waters of lake Minnetonka, he acknowledged that the waters from this pool were also an acceptable stand in.

Great people... safety as well as friendly people... the pool has multiple depths, diving boards, picnic tables, food, umbrellas, lifeguards, dressing rooms.

Our family joined a few years ago, because our son knew a few kids who swam there. Even though he was new, he was welcome on the swim team, and we found it an really fun & friendly place. Some other reviewers lament the old-fashioned facilities, but I kind of love them: it's like a little trip back to a suburban pool in the mid-70's, right down to the classic rock playing. A bit of Brigadoon right here in Silver Spring! Our kid is out of high school now, but we re-joined this year, because it's a really nice place to hang out, with great community vibe.

We really love our local pool. This past off-season they replaced the entire deck and everything looks really good.

25 meter pool and diving well. Tucked in the neighborhood. Could use some updates to their facility but the staff was nice and helpful and the place clean.
