Like many kids, my daughter was terrified of swimming when we first started. With caring and perseverance, the Goldfish staff found a way to ease her fears and show her what to do. Now, she swims well on her own and loves the water. She improves in skill and confidence every week. Their scheduling system is easy to use, easy to adjust. They have lots of convenient class times. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s even Metro accessible at Twinbrook. Can’t recommend them enough!

Our son had his first class recently, and we're extremely impressed with this entire operation so far. Several things stand out: 1) The facility is beautifully designed, organized, clean, and well maintained. It's friendly and inviting to young children, especially in what could be a scary new experience. 2) Front desk staff--extremely friendly and helpful, both in the initial text contact as well as when we arrived for the first class. We were given a tour, a welcome bag of goodies (and not just cheap goodies, but nice swag, including goldfish crackers, a ribbon, a little goldfish toy, etc.). 3) Swim staff--impressive! The deck supervisor (Mr. Deacon) figured out who we were and came over while our son was in the class to introduce himself and ask if we had any questions. The coach that was listed on the class had went back to school, but the substitute coach (Mr. Geronimo) was phenomenal--very safety conscious, patient with a kid who kept kicking water up, and gentle with all of the kids. Mr. Deacon explained to us who the new coach will be, which was good to know so that we're not surprised with different coaches and no communication. Also, the lifeguards were all super-focused, yet noticed the little details (our son loss his goggles that were sitting on his head and she noticed them and asked the coach to get them after the class was done--our son didn't need them during class after all). The uniform helpfulness, friendliness, and care that the staff showed reminds me of upper end hospitality (in select hotels, restaurants, etc.). I don't know if all of the Goldfish Swim Schools operate like this, but we were extremely impressed with the Rockville location and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice introduction (or skill development) to swimming for their child.

I cannot say enough great things about this swim school and the staff at this location! From the very beginning, the environment has felt so welcoming and comforting—especially for the little ones. You can tell the staff has strong bonds with one another, and that teamwork shines through in how learnable, teachable, and kid-friendly they are. My son wasn’t warming up during his very first class, but the staff went above and beyond to ease his nerves. One of them, Shaq, pulled him aside and patiently explained—at just his 2-year-old level—how much fun swimming would be, and by the end, he was smiling and splashing along! I’ve seen majority of their staff take this same kind, reassuring approach with other first-time swimmers, and it makes such a difference. Makayla is absolutely wonderful with the infants. She has a natural, calming presence that puts babies at ease while also helping parents feel confident and equipped to support their little swimmers. My kids have truly progressed so much since we started here, and the staff deserves all the credit. My daughter had the pleasure of working with Taniyah as her instructor, and we just love her! She’s so encouraging and fun, which keeps my daughter motivated and excited for every class. Sofia is usually the friendly face we see during our late-night classes—always welcoming, helpful, and accommodating with schedule changes. Shaq does a fantastic job supervising; he’s attentive, quick to respond when needed, and always ensures safety is the top priority. During one class, my daughter had an emergency, and he handled it calmly and with genuine care for her well-being. Last but definitely not least, Nina, the manager, is phenomenal. You can clearly see her passion for both her staff and the children. She’s very hands-on, approachable, and her positive energy fills the entire swim school. Nina also represents the swim school at community events we’ve attended which is how we got to the school , like the recent Back to School event, where their table stood out and drew lots of attention. She’s such a natural people person and makes everyone feel welcome. We couldn’t be happier with our experience here. This location has been such a blessing for our family, and I truly appreciate the amazing staff who make it so special. Highly recommend!

We have been at goldfish from the past 1 year. It has been a great experience. Our son loves to go there. The instructors are very kind and patient with the kids. As every child is different, the instructions there teach every kid as per their needs. The water temperature is also warm and perfect for younger kids. I highly recommend this school.

The instructors are amazing! The facility is comfortable and immaculate. Our two young sons were nervous about starting, but we have now been swimming for around seven months, and they can't wait to get in the pool every week. They went from being unable to swim independently and afraid to having absolute confidence and ability in the pool. They have an excellent star grading system to track your child's progress in their app. They are always happy to answer questions. Above all is their dedication to safety and making sure your child is 100% ready before they move to the next level. We wish we had started them sooner. When I asked the manager to observe a lesson to help with one of our kid's anxiety, she personally worked with the instructor on a plan that would help him grow. Today, our older kid can swim the width of the pool and do so many things! Our younger son is doing great too. I would recommend getting there early for lessons as the parking lot does fill up quickly. Overall a great experience and a very well thought out and run business.
