Pool boasting an Olympic-sized length.
Specific, real-time pool temperature information for the Sugarland Run HOA Swimming Pool is not publicly available or regularly published. As a standard outdoor community pool in Northern Virginia, its temperature would naturally fluctuate with ambient weather conditions but is generally maintained at a comfortable level typical for recreational swimming during the summer season, often in the range of 78-82°F (25.5-27.8°C) for most outdoor public pools.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviewed pool is consistently praised for being large, clean, and well-maintained, offering ample seating in both sun and shade, and rarely getting too crowded. Visitors appreciate the long operating hours, often until 9 PM, although some wish the opening/closing dates were more flexible based on weather rather than fixed holidays. Staff quality has been a mixed bag, with some past experiences noting disinterest or brusqueness, particularly with foreign summer program hires, but recent reviews indicate improvement and generally watchful, nice staff. Some minor concerns were raised regarding inconsistent mask policies (required for entry/exit but not for check-in staff) and the safety of adding chemicals to the kids' pool while children are present.
Reviews
This pool is pretty big and fairly clean, provides a good amount of room for everyone seating-wise, and is well maintained. The staff can be iffy from year to year which is what takes it down a star but overall I’ve been going here for several years and enjoy my experience every time.
I loved the pool being open till 9 pm. Was staff there about 1985. Lifeguard and swim instructor.
You can't entirely choose your HOA pool since it just depends where you move, so it feels a bit odd to review it, but here it goes. In our case it wasn't as significant a factor in where we bought a home as other things, but luckily this is a decent pool. It is certainly large, but also seems clean and well maintained. The staff in the past and perhaps now seemed to be hired through some kind of foreign summer program, no problem with that aspect of it, but they were at times uninterested and a bit brusque. More recently this seems to have improved. There is certainly your typical population of kids, but they do a good job of keeping the kids from preventing adults from enjoying the pool. Hours are long if you decide you need a dip in the evening.
Nice big pool for everyone. There are plenty of chairs to lounge in the sun or you can move them under the trees for some shade and you can bring your own food/drinks or have pizza delivered poolside. Hardly ever gets too crowded ( just the first few weekends after it opens in the summer). Just wish it would open earlier/stay open later in the year based on the actual weather rather than arbitrary dates (memorial to labor day).
Not a bad experience, everyone there is very nice and watchful. 2 questions though: Why are we required to wear masks upon entering and exiting if the people working the check-in are mask less? Is it safe to be putting chemicals in the kids pool while kids are in it?
