Public swimming pool with lifeguards and showers, suitable for kids.
Specific, published water temperatures for the Upper County Outdoor Pool are generally not provided by Montgomery County Recreation. As an outdoor facility, the water temperature is primarily influenced by ambient air temperature and sun exposure, warming naturally throughout the summer season. It is typically not a temperature-controlled or heated pool in the same manner as an indoor aquatic center.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The community swimming facility receives a mix of positive and negative feedback. While the pool itself is generally well-regarded, and swim instructors like Miss Brenda are highly praised for their excellent work with children, there are significant areas for improvement. Recurring complaints focus on the poor condition of the facilities, specifically outdated, unclean showers with empty soap dispensers, poorly maintained toilets, and a lack of designated changing rooms. Reviewers also note a perceived lack of warmth and communication from lifeguards, which can make the environment feel less welcoming for children, despite their attentiveness. Additionally, the 30-minute safety breaks are considered unnecessary by some.

This community swimming facility is excellent overall, but there are a few areas that need improvement. The showers are outdated, and there are no designated changing rooms. Additionally, the toilets are not well-maintained. While I appreciate the lifeguards’ focus and attentiveness, their approach lacks warmth—especially toward children. There’s minimal communication or greeting, which can make the environment feel less welcoming.
5 stars for Miss Brenda. She is the swim instructor for my kid and she does so well with little kids. She has more patience yet firm than some of the fill in instructors. She looks like she enjoys what she does. She has had to be out a couple of times for her excusable reasons and we went as thrilled with the other. There is another swim class/ instructor at the same time and he seems just as invested in these kids as Miss Brenda. I don't know his name but he is older. I look forward to what he can teach my kid in the next level!
Good pool. But the 30 minute safety breaks are senseless.
I've been going here for a long time, great pool. That one lifeguard with the cool hair and sunglasses is awesome. I think his name was Miguel or something but I'm not sure.
Worst shower rooms ever! Have not been cleaned and soap dispensers are empty. Took a class for my 3 year old son, it didn't look like a shower/ bathrooms in USA! I wouldn't recommend it at all.
