About

Fort Carson Ellis Outdoor Pool, located at 1231 Ellis St, Fort Carson, CO 80913, USA, is a community recreational swimming facility typically open during warmer months. As an outdoor pool, it serves as a popular spot for swimming, leisure, and family fun for the Fort Carson community and authorized patrons.

Specific pool temperatures are generally dynamic and not readily available in public static summaries. For current water temperatures, it is recommended to contact the Fort Carson Ellis Outdoor Pool directly, as outdoor pool temperatures can vary based on heating schedules and prevailing weather conditions.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool facility are largely negative, highlighting significant issues with management, communication, and alleged discrimination. Several reviewers criticized management for poor planning, such as closing indoor pools during cold holiday weekends while opening frigid outdoor ones, and making decisions based on arbitrary calendars rather than weather forecasts. There are strong accusations of racism from management and officers towards a Black family, including unfair treatment, denial of service, and refusal of a refund. Other common complaints include an outdated website that inaccurately lists open hours, leading to wasted trips, and general frustration over the pool frequently being closed. Conversely, one positive review praised the pool as "great" with "nice chairs" and an easy swimming test.

One star for whoever is managing the base pools. Closing the indoor pools—the ones families and kids rely on—on Memorial Day weekend, during 52-degree weather with rain and wind, is completely ridiculous. Instead, they open a frigid outdoor pool. Do better. Stop arbitrarily pointing at a calendar to make decisions and start looking at the projected weather. This kind of poor planning ruins the weekend for families and makes it clear that saving a few bucks matters more than serving the community. Also, if you're going to switch locations, be sure to pay your phone bill so people can actually call.

Just a heads up black people the management over this pool was very racist towards my family, along with the officers that were called out to handle the situation. Before hearing us out clearly they began asking for our Ids knowing that the request was just so they could do background checks, which didn't bother us because we know we are not criminals nor are we confusion maker which they had no probable cause. And because of the embrassment we felt being singled out for no reason we decided to leave and when we asked for a refund we were denied, which was very wrong to me because we just had paid to enter the pool within the hour she called the ep's on us behind the floating mechanism my granddaughter had. My family's standpoint and negotiation was if the family with the noodles were able to have them to play with so should my granddaughter be able to have hers because neither items were coast guard approved. And that's were the problem came in, she was not willing to be fair, and keep in mind we were the only black people in this pool. However we spoke to Hispanic family that had the noodles, he said he was spoken to about the noodles but was eventually allowed to keep them. Until this day no apology has been issued by anyone to included Fort Carson. And by the time mps did their due ddiligence to see if she was right in her actions and theirs it was too late. To include my husband is now a vet we served 22 years in the military to be treated like crap. And people say racism don't exist. Lol that's funny and it takes place on post too.

You need to update the website. If you are closed then put closed. This way people don't waste there time driving only to find out it is not open. Very bad advertising on your part.

If I was allowed to give one star I would but consider considering the pool is never even opened. You really can’t even judge it. NEVER OPEN!!!!
