I’ve been a member of Vasa Fitness for a while, but recently, there have been several issues. The air conditioning has been down for two weeks, the toilet and other facilities are being repaired, and currently, 12 machines are out of service. I downgraded my membership because I didn’t feel $45 a month was worth it in these conditions. Vasa should consider offering loyal customers a discount until everything is fixed.
Update 6/30/25: Increasing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I will say, things have improved; most of the machines I originally took pictures of have been repaired, except for the pec dec machine, which bafflingly is still broken despite the sign that says, "Parts will arrive in early June" (I think it's been broken for ~5 months now, maybe more). There was also an issue a while back where most of the speakers playing music in the gym were emitting an irritating high pitched whine, but that's been fixed too. It seems like they've also been more on top of replacing worn out seat/cushion covers and worn out cable attachments. Workouts have certainly been more enjoyable as of late. My main complaint is just some of the people that come to this gym. Most members here respect gym etiquette, but occasionally you'll have a few who will take up a machine for 20+ minutes and only do a few sets, or will rotate between two or three machines simultaneously (and get annoyed if you take one), or won't wipe down equipment, or will slam medicine balls against the wall as part of their "warm-up". I know that's not technically VASA's fault, but it would be nice if employees policed this behavior when they notice it. Orignal review: I've been consistently coming to this VASA for the past two and a half years, but in the past 4-6 months, I've noticed a sharp decline in the quality of maintenance and care this gym receives. There are at least a dozen or more broken machines or equipment, some of which have been broken for literal months and it's now impacting my workout routine. With how busy this gym gets, it's even harder to find an opening on the working machines, and a broken toilet in the men's bathroom means there's frequently a line for the two remaining working toilets. There are so many broken machines that they've resorted to using a taped-on handwritten note because they've run out of the laminated signs. The only saving graces for this VASA location is the cheap membership options and the friendly staff (but considering how often I see new staff working the front counter, it sure seems like the turnover rate is high). I'm going to be considering paying more for a membership at another gym if it means cleaner, better maintained equipment. For how insanely busy this gym gets, you'd think they'd be flush with cash to actually maintain or replace their equipment, but I guess they don't care.
It could be such a great gym, but it is falling apart. What a shame. Some of this equipment has been broken for days, others for weeks and months. Not just the machines, men's facilities are deteriorating and/or non-functional. Not sure why it takes so long to fix stuff... These photos were taken on 4/14/25. Just hoping we can bring this location back up to speed, please.
I've been going to this gym for a while now, and recently, most of their most used machines are broken. That wouldn't be a problem if they fixed them, but these machines are left broken for upwards of four weeks.
Staff is great. Equipment not so much, tons of broken machines and spa area has been out of order for a hot minute. Sucks I pay over $20 a month for this.
