Adventureland is a super nice little park. I appreciate the attention to detail that went into making the front entrance, entrance plaza, and Main Street area look nice. This place has received some great investment in recent years and it really shows. The roller coaster collection is really solid. Monster is an amazing ride that is very unique. Super fun, a long ride, and a really ride to just watch it go around. Also shoutout to the operations here for always keeping the line moving. They made a Monster wait that was posted at 60 minutes only 23 minutes. They also have some great food here. I got a cup of fresh made cookies, and some cheese fries, that were both delicious. Overall the place has a nice, homey feel to it, it’s well taken care of, and overall just a well managed, nice little park. I’d recommend checking out Adventureland if you find yourself in the Des Moines area. Be warned though, everything closes in high winds so check the forecast before coming out.
We came last year in late Sept and was extremely disappointed as 90% of the kids rides were shut down, as well as over half the adult rides. We came back this summer and was extremely impressed! Everything was open! Wait times weren't long AT ALL! Staff at all the rides were all friendly, the staff at the concession stands were not, however. Overall, it was a much better experience this summer than it was last fall! The food is never anything to brag about, especially for the price, but nice to have the option for food throughout the day. Also, get an adventureland souvenir cup for cheaper refills!
Adventureland has the perfect amount of rides and attractions for a day of fun. You get to pair the Waterpark with the amusement park. The concessions are pricey but it's what you expect for places like this. Get yourself tickets on discount from the website and plan your trip knowing they are rain day guaranteed! We ended up getting 2 days for the price of 1 because the day rained out around 2 on our first trip. We didn't wait for more than 10 minutes on any rides on the rain day and about 25 minutes on popular rides on our return visit. We love our annual trip here. There's rides for all ages from toddler to adult! I highly reccomend Adventureland for a fun family/friend day!
Unless you have season pass parking is $22. Food and drinks are very expensive. Pizza is $17.99 which is smaller than a small pizza. I can get a large pizza from Domino's at that price. Wait in line 30 -35 minutes for rides. Spend more time walking to get my swim stuff for Adventure Bay. No ski lift to other side of park. Rides like the Gallon, the lighthouse Ride and Dragon roller-coaster not there. Not worth my time and money.
Definitely worth the price and prices inside the park aren't too extravagant. They even have decent $10 sandals you can buy at the water park and 50% off shirts for$12. I could of gone on all the rides if I wanted to on a Saturday!
