About

Family-friendly pool offering slides and lifeguards.

Specific information regarding the precise pool temperatures for the Teachout Aquatic Center is not readily available. As an outdoor facility, the water temperatures are typically ambient and will fluctuate based on prevailing weather conditions.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews express consistent disappointment with the public pool, primarily citing the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of lifeguards. Patrons reported lifeguards being rude, accusatory, dismissive, condescending, yelling at children (including toddlers), and even swearing, often for minor rule infractions or without proper explanation. Many complaints also detail overly strict and unreasonable rules, such as a two-step run-and-jump limit, an unforgiving swim test with no retries, and a 'within reach' policy for older children in shallow water, which are seen as stifling fun. Additional criticisms include the limited facilities (small pool, few slides, shallow depth) and one instance of questionable operational decisions, where the pool reportedly closed early due to cleanliness issues despite visible safety lines.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the treatment I received during my recent visit to your public pool. I was spoken to rudely and unfairly by the lifeguards on duty, who repeatedly questioned my age and refused to believe that I am 14 years old—even after I explained this politely multiple times. Their tone was disrespectful and accusatory, which made me feel singled out and embarrassed in front of other patrons. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism and courtesy, the lifeguards acted in a dismissive and condescending manner. It was not only unnecessary but also entirely inappropriate for a public facility that should prioritize respectful treatment of all visitors. I hope this issue will be addressed, and that future interactions with staff will be more respectful and appropriate. I would appreciate a response outlining how complaints like this are handled and what steps are being taken to ensure better conduct from staff going forward.

This place sucks you can’t do anything you can only take 2 steps to run and jump in the pool and if you take more you get flamed by a life guard and the swim test is very strict if you mess up a little you fail and YOU DONT GET TO RETRY and if you basically can’t do anything in basket if you touch someone you get flamed let your kid ride on your shoulders flamed and somebody just touched the rope that separates the deep and short end and guess what HE GOT FLAMED to sum it up go to cascade falls 100 times better not so strict and better food and DEFINITELY BETTER RIDES! and the pool is so small the rides suck two slides and that’s it the deepest part is 5ft 😭 and they even yell at toddlers when they are rough houseing with each other is not “can you please stop” it’s “STOP YOU DUMB BABY” and they are disrespectful for no reason

Summer just started, and they're closing 2 hours early because the pool was too dirty to see safety lines. All lines were visible as we left. And classes were still going on, instead of cleaning a filthy pool. Do better.

I don't usually post negative stuff persey. But me and the family were just at Teachout, our 6 year olds were about 2 feet if not less in front of us and the guard told them they needed to be by their parents. I said they are, we are right here. She said no they have to be in reach. I get rules and safety but come on Teachout. My kids, in that area of water only go there pecks and for two: they can go down the slide on their own but can't be outta arms length? A pool is meant to be fun, and when there are lifeguards this is the point that they help with, no, not watch my kids, but assist. I grew up here. I walked here as a kid, and spent a lot of time at Teachout as a kid. But I probably won't do the same with my kids. On a positive note, nice and clean pool!

The lifeguards were very rude (especially Addie) they treated me and my friends disrespectfully and swore at us for not knowing the rules. I do not recommend going to this pool due to the immature behavior of the lifeguards.
